Re: can you make 200 dollar per month by streaming aoe3
Go stream AoE3, we need more top streamers, casters and YouTube videos :P Spoken about YouTube, this platform can possibly complement the 200$. I don't think you should recommend a dead end. u16425 If you go with streaming I think you have a much better chance with AOE4. Look at ...

Re: Seeking advice for upgrading RAM
That sounds suspiciously very much like laptop ram. Did I just catch Dolan using a "shittop" :O?Dolan wrote:Yea they have good value for money RAM. I got a 2x8GB kit of 3200 CL-16 for about 75€ this spring.

Re: Seeking advice for upgrading RAM
software upgrades have not necessarily kept up with hardware upgrades. Right; it's just that I'm writing some of my own Python scripts that involve large arrays, and I think it would make a difference there. Yeah if pushed to the limit, I could say that I can wait 1 minute longer for stuff to run. ...

Re: Seeking advice for upgrading RAM
u106 But those RAM sticks are like 5 years old, that's also why they're so discounted. 2400 frequency was probably top back then Btw they're not 3200Mhz. Yeah I really thought I saw 3200MHz, but it's not. Either I saw wrong, or the seller made a mistake and changed it. I ended up...

Never mind, I see 2400 too now. I swear it was 3200. I think the seller changed it.

Re: Seeking advice for upgrading RAM
That link is 2400 MHz, which is the slowest speed but at the same time good CAS latency. I think this would be a good option if you're worried about battery life. I don't see why it would be a scam. Either way Amazon is really good with refunds right? Wow that's weird. When I go to it it's 3200. Al...

Re: Seeking advice for upgrading RAM
To get an idea what your system supports you can look in the spec sheet of your CPU and mobo. It's actually the CPU model that tells you what kind of RAM it can drive (in terms of frequency, clock speed, total capacity). Can't really tell specifically since you didn't mention which CPU and mobo you...

Re: Seeking advice for upgrading RAM
u1170 Thank you so much! You don't "have to" match frequency with the old ones if you're replacing both sticks. You don't even necessarily have to match it if you only replace one (it should "just work" at the slower speed), but probably don't risk it. But if y...

It's 8x2. The 16x2 sounds really appealing but it feels like a waste... why do you think it's better?gibson wrote:Is it 16gb with 8x2 or 16x1? If its 16x1 you should try to get an identical 16 stick. If its 8x2 I’d scrap it all and buy 2x16s

Seeking advice for upgrading RAM
Hello, My current Dell laptop has 16GB RAM, but I will soon need to work with files of 10-15GB, so I would like to upgrade to 32GB, or possibly 64GB RAM. While browsing, I saw that RAM prices vary a lot. On the Dell website, they sell 1 stick of 8GM RAM for $108: https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/dell...

Where is Kaiser's tourney being streamed?
Hi, I am slowly following the tourney from Kaiser's and ESOCTV's past broadcasts. However, I am wondering if it is streamed on any other channels? I did not check other threads for fear of getting spoiled. Thanks! P.S. thanks u813 for hosting this, it's imo the greatest tourney of...

Re: What would we accept as maximum complexity this game offers us?
That said, I definitely think part of why aoe2 has been more successful over the years is because it's just easier to get into for a new player. The civs are all sort of copy-pasted versions of the same thing with slight changes, and aesthetic differences. I can definitely see how aoe3 must just be...

Interesting take; I'm just a captain but maybe it is more interesting for PR20-. The talking too fast is still a big turnoff for me though.

idk if its just me but DE doesn't give me the homely feel that legacy did. Sounds weird i know but iykyk Agreed, the nostalgia is gone, and it’s made me realize that aoe3 overall, whether it be de or re, is just not a great game. Yeah, same. I think lots of semi ff's is good. Why would you want to lock away so much of the game's content?

Re: USA speculation thread
Well yeah, the USA wasn't much of a colonial power, since the whole country was a federation of colonies. While the original AOE3 was themed on "age of discovery" colonial empires. So this addition kinda breaks with that pattern. Perhaps you can see its vast expansion to the west as colon...

Re: USA speculation thread
Adding the US sounds rather ridiculous. Should it be added, I expect strong features for late-game. Gatling guns as unique artillery should be straight-forward. An improved colonial milita could also make sense, making the US more difficult to rush. I dont understand, why would it be ridiculous? I ...

I have an example for you where a game is popular just because it's fun: Heroes of Might and Magic 3, one of the world's most popular and greatest TBS video game. When nerfing the dragoon in EP, we chose a stat (ranged resistance) that is more relevant on higher levels in order to balance the unit there, without affecting it too much on lower levels where it was less of an issue. I'm very glad you guys thought about it this way. When nerfind the uhlan, have ...

Re: Balance discussion
But I strongly disagree with people like Bramboy who act as if this is a stone-cold fact (unless he has strong evidence). I haven't conducted any peer-reviewed research but anecdotal evidence would be that both SC1 and SC2 - the world's most popular and greatest RTS series - balances based on the h...
