I just wanted to keep esoc a nice place for everyone, and to make it about the game. From my perspective you succeeded. I post, but not on a regular basis and I find the experience to be largely positive. There have been some very interesting topics which encourage me to read the posts even if I do...

Re: Could nerfing fast age be good for the game?
Buffing other age ups would make colonial play more viable in that a slow age is extremely punishable. You wouldn't be buffing the age time for other politicians, but rather the benefit. The idea is to make the reward more in line with the risk. If you don't think the risk is that great, then you'd...

Re: [NEW] ESO Clan Features
While I totally believe that Microsoft said that, I am a little skeptical that they'll actually act on this. As far as I know there's not even actually a dev team associated with AoE3 right now, so I suspect that it was more of a nice way to say "oh we can look into it" and not actually d...

Re: Best British player
Well NP was very rusty and it was still the old meta, no steel trap, rax before 700w etc. He still won Soldier's ger and iro, nothing fascinating but very nice considering how rusty he was. Even though he's not active (as far as I know) and when he did show up he was nowhere near the top of his gam...

Re: Which new maps would you like to see on Saturday Smackdown?
Would be great to see the non winter version of great lakes. It's a hard map to wall which means even if you go early water you can still be punished. Awesome map for naval and land wars, can get pretty crazy with two equally skilled players. I heard they remade New England? If so they should use th...

If that happens I'll be surprised and very impressed. Someone asked awhile back when/who would be the next PR 50 and I confidently said there never would be another.

Re: Best British player
He was good back in the days of the wcg. WCG 2007 was Dutch lamefest (TWC) and 2008 Japan lamefest. These are the only WCGs AOE3 got. So it looks like his opinion is most likely based on PK tourney. I doubt you can say from this tourney whether he was the best or simply good. It's just not consiste...

Re: _H2O vs Diarouga grudge match?
A bo5 H2o vs Kynesie would be extremely entertaining. I agree with you that H2o often swats people who play the same way because he's just better at doing those same things. That said I think all five maps would need to have some water for kynesie to have any kind of chance at winning. Even with wa...

Re: Mercenaries rebalancing
Viable mercenaries are nothing but problematic. Civs are designed in a way that they are balanced with the tools at their proposal. If you give them acces to better tools that might completely destroy any existing balance. For example, germany is designed around having shitty anticav (ww are really...

Back on topic I just noticed that Irish's elo is continuing to climb. Check his game history and began wishing there were recs available for some of the 20+ minute games.

Re: _H2O vs Diarouga grudge match?
We need a bo5 Kynesie vs H20... For Ryan it is hard to play against a player who plays so much differently... That is the reason he beated Raphael pretty easy it was just all about the mechanics and micro mostly and decision making... A bo5 H2o vs Kynesie would be extremely entertaining. I agree wi...

Re: Best British player
I watched some phoenix recs and he seems super good with brits. NaturePhoenix was the top brits player a long time ago so his strats may be quite dated. I would say Goodspeed when he's actually paying attention and doing the whole try hard thing. Obviously there are better players then him, but he ...
Re: Walls
i know how to build no pillar walls. but i dont understand how can players like kynesie build many pile of walls of proper length IN ONE SECOND. i watched his rec and didnt find him measuring the length of each pile of wall. he just drag with mouse and del the pillars and all the segments are in pr...

i have to say that some "technical issues" are not far away from cheat. auto no-pillar wall building rotate wall is nerfed in fp but in re endless wall is still fucking op. building rotate sounds good, but its still not available without changing game data. In my book both are cheats. I q...

notification The finals are BO9 Losing 5 games in a row doesnt mean you are good at all no matter how close the games were. -Also, if the games were really close (as you are all saying), it should have been 3-2 for anyone of them instead of 5-0 for H2O 3-2 or 5-0 ? Haha you don't know what a BO9 is...

Re: The new GOD IrishFaithful
^_^ Irish is legit, he should just learn other civs and he could easily become top three player, imo It looks like he already is a top three player. Watching his smackdown versus h2o was impressive. Sure he couldn't take a win (that day) but he didn't seem to have too many mechanics issues. The onl...

Donald Trump (actual last name Drumpf, m) scares me. If he takes control of this country it will probably mean a world wide disaster of potentially World War 3 proportions. Vikings. Period. Game of Thrones is awesome, but I've grown tired of the "Every single character WILL die so don't get attached" formula. When the show first started if was very refreshing to have a series where you truly never knew if a character was safe or not. Now, so many people have ...

You got to play ffas with rules like "cant build walls" or "the winner is the one with higher kill count" to try making things interesting, if you dont, the best strategy is just to never atack... Witch is just boring. Hmm. I guess the few I've played haven't been true examples ...

Spies is also calculated based on all enemy units? I always thought spies was based on how many villagers your enemy had left, specifically 100 x villagers remaining.
