It's actually pretty legit, with 10-minute treaty it's even better as you can go greedier with perhaps bombards, double huss shipments, 2 factories, of course, or even cav combat.

or 12 abus EleGiggle. That shipment is so broken.

Re: 10 min treaty stratergy

brit vc semi-ff into musk huss mass is quite good. Strong start army and wicked strong follow up (6 upgrade cards and 60 vills is pretty good). Same goes with super greedy dutch/japan ff or fi.

Re: Calvin and Hobbes Appreciation Thread

Calvin in Hobbes strips are probably some of my favorite things I have ever read. The way he presents philosophical questions in such an innocent, dry, and humorous way is just pure genius. https://qph.ec.quoracdn.net/main-qimg-3c9b05dcad9ace2bae6f3e69d3358799 https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/or...

Also, imperial units are way better for day-to-day use because they are based off of human measurements.

Re: You Can't Out-Scale Japan - Stop Trying

from my experience, a really good semi-ff bo against japan is vc-700w-700c-2 falc-10lb. If you can afford to get a TP you can go 3v-vc-700w-700c. Train 5 musks or pikes (musks are easier to macro), then age with 7 lb. Get a second rax in transition, as well as 10 more musks or longbows, and 400w and...

Re: You Can't Out-Scale Japan - Stop Trying

If he could go to industrial that quickly than you definitely did something wrong. Semi ff builds can work against Japan really really well, you just need to have a really tight and strong timing, as well as a good composition (lots of falcs)

Re: Time Taken for Various things in aoe3

cdb is like 29 seconds. I think normal vill is 25. Otto vill is 48 normally and I think 30 after all church ups. All age ups are 100 seconds, except fortress takes 110, and fast age takes 40 seconds to fortress and 30 to other ages. iirc most infantry units are within the ballpark of 20-30 seconds, ...

2 what do you think about vet dopps in age 3 vs. china/spain? It's not necessarily bad vs China if they go for cav spam, but I think WW are better. Vs Spain I think it's probably not very good. Ok. I have played as and against germany with mass dopps in age 3 to surprise the death ball, and its wor...

Re: Indian Starter Pack for the Beginner Elifent

Sometimes in team games (and 1v1 too) I do forward agra with consulate in transition. I do 300 export first, get french cons and immediatly send 500w, then 500c asap. With the 500w I lay down an extra rax with my fort as well as a market, a house, and the first two hunting ups (normally delay first ...

Re: Useless units?

The base damage and cost gives samurai a good edge early on, but with a few upgrades dopples are far better. The mutli makes samurai so bad late game they lose to cav. Presumably we're talking about an age 2 fight though, if samurais are actually being made? So then samurais would have the edge, ri...

Re: Useless units?

So my guess: unless you're using your samurais as tanks while your yumis are killing maces - which may be possible if samurais have high enough hp to still be efficient tanks despite the multipliers of the maces was correct? Not really. Yumi can kite and poke on maces very easily, and you aren't re...

Exactly. If samurai had 4 speed I would not build them because they would never be able to catch up to kiting mace.

Re: Useless units?

yeah yumi samurai sounds pretty bad vs azz imo Samurai are great vs. azzy. They are fast enough to catch mace, and counter every azzy unit cost-effectively in hand combat. You can even just poke and kite with the yumi to pick off most of the mace then just force an engagement and a-move with your s...

Re: Useless units?

But on topic, rajputs are pretty useless, same goes for galleons and fluyts. True, but sometimes because resources its good you can make them. It's the only unit in the game that costs food/wood (besides mahout which is age3). So if you have some gold, at least you can make something. :P IMO you're...

I think samurai are viable against aztec actually. That is if aztec is me :( Not really, I think yumi samurai is simply a great unit composition against aztec. Re: why people play treaty?

It should be removed as a game option, but should instead be integrated into maps IMO. While I think treaty can be fun, I definitely think that sup takes overall more skill and is an overall harder gamemode. I don't want Aoe3:DE to advertise treaty stuff because I dont think that it is healthy for t...
