u355 You can stand up for yourself without flaming or calling someone racial slurs. How do your two posts not contradict each other u323 ? I believe there should be different standards for ESOC and real life. In real life, I am a free speech absolutist -- I think anyone should have the right to say anything that isn't slanderous or incites violence. However, tha...

In public sure, but not on this forum. This is a place for people to bond over AoE3; anything that detracts from that should not be allowed.voigt1240 wrote: Right. Okay so literally anyone can make you stop using literally any word because they feel offended? Do you even realize what you're saying I never said that other people should be able to "make you" do anything. My point is that you should choose not to use words that make people uncomfortabl...

I remember trying to get staff to separate the two into different categories because I didn't agree that ESOC Talk is "Off topic" and we were seeing very little overlap in the people who posted in those forums. And of course this scapegoating was pretty predictable. The separation didn't ...

I get that but nowadays it is impossible to not step on anyones toes. How far should we go in that regard? Films, music lyrics, lectures, general speech. It is a slippery slope. But i will stop using certain words if it is offensive . I'm glad you brought up that last point. Not being an asshole is...

@aaryngend Yes, GS is absolutely the reason Off Topic is a mess. The first step towards restoring order on this forum should be to put it back under the control of the Community Team. And I agree with everything else you said.

When one side puts the blame on the other side. It only splits the community further. Both side ought to be more respectful of eachother and openminded. Ideally there should be no ''sides'' There are more things we agree on than disagree on, lets focus more on that. If you're talking about politics...

Imo the biggest contributor to the negative culture on these forums has been the refusal of staff to permaban toxic people. I cannot count the number of times that I, as a staff member, saw other staff insist that we give people "another chance" no matter what terrible things they had done...

Who is saying what? Pewresearchcenter has looked at the growth of numbers of immigrants to see how the numbers could look like in the future. If sweden takes zero immigrants in they would have around 11% muslims in 2050. In a medium immigration scenario around 20. And in a high immigration scenario...

Well muslim politicans here are already adcovating for sharia law in europe. Swedens muslim population will make up to 20% of the entire population 30 years from now if they continue the same immigration policies for example. it is probably just a matter of time. It should happen. There are only 2 outcomes and both are good. Either :ear: is a good mod, or we get a highly entertaining week of controversy as people take issue with his modding ability. It's win win. I admit, watching Ear and u55 go at it in the staff discord would be quite a...
