Re: Spanish Discussion Thread
Buffing xbow range would be too much I think. Besides, reducing wood cost and transferring it to food is maximum zoom is willing to do with xbows.

China vs heavy cav IS a problem, especially cuirs in big numbers.

Re: How to put the draugur ai in the files?
If it is boring to play against, then either not enough handicap, or not enough bots There is a better AI script, based on Draugur one made by Murdilator. It can actually provide decent challenge on expert, especially if you play vs 2 or more comps. Installation process is the same. Vanilla TAD AI ...

Re: ZP: The Zoi Patch
Ok fr and ger are top tier. That's new. Meanwhile you complain about the fast age getting nerfed Fre and Ger at top tier yea. And I complain about the fast age up getting nerfed because it's stupid design-wise, and it nerfs Port, while it's an average civ. Fast age will still be good and completely...

Re: ZP: The Zoi Patch
There is no point in nitpicking on singular changes or the comments diarouga made concerning them, because the issue he is trying to point out isn't that xbows shoouldnt cost 50f, but that the EP shouldn't become a playground with an own and very different meta, because that is not how you generate...

Re: ZP: The Zoi Patch
Now when i study changes more closely i can see Zoi logic behind them. However, some changes like manors, zams and few other seem problematic and i think they will be removed/tweaked in final version.

Re: ZP: The Zoi Patch
I think bigger problem is the fact that we have more than two unofficial patches. Treaty, smackdown and esoc, which are already fragmenting pretty small player base. Games with small and declining playerbase like AOE III can't afford to have so many patches.....

Re: Walls/water discussion
About water vs land: thats a map problem imo. if you make maps that have little to no res near the shore, rushing/timming becomes viable vs full water (currently you rush, kill the tc, the guys just migrates to gold mines and trees in the shore, ggnore) Walls: We could try increasing building time ...

Re: Walls/water discussion
I think sc2 is not good example. Its much different rts mechanics wise, abilities play much larger role, backbone of good eco is to have multiple bases, tech have larger role.... AOE III is much different game in almost every regard.

Re: Portuguese Discussion Thread
Even with better eco which derives from vill price reduction, I constantly feel the need for turtling to age IV when playing Ports, or doing full water and even better, semi water which is now possible with new ep version. I feel they can't cope well with strongest age III civs in the game. They mis...

Re: Portuguese Discussion Thread
Goons and huss are both good, and cassadores are a bit weak but not horrible. Can't really say ports have only one good unit. And it's not because ports would have inf combat in age 3 that they'd be like dutch lol, then you can say the same thing about iro. They have best goons in the game, hussars...

Re: Portuguese Discussion Thread
Moving inf card from IV to III will just make another carbon copy of Dutch. I wouldn't do it, there are other ways to further improve Ports without standardizing. This way Ports remain unique, but on the other hand, having only one good unit in their whole army roster limits options. You can win wit...

Re: The Musketeer Case
Buffing xbows is good idea, which has been suggested x times here. Buffed xbows will actually serve as real counter vs musks which is their role in the first place. In this state they are almost worthless. On the other hand, civs that only have xbows as natural "counter" in age 2 have prob...
