#freesirmusket He still cheats regularly - he accidentally posted a screenshot of himself maphacking on Jailed discord last week. It is overwhelmingly likely that these individuals will continue cheating in DE - and unfortunately there is a strong correlation between cheating and being generally to...

Re: Swede and Inca speculation thread
my predictions: Inca is a turtle and boom civ, like Ports or Japan. Gonna be Kynesie style play, with super OP Incan stone masonry and a strong late game economy. This will be to balance out TWC civs, since the other three all have pretty bad late game ecos, and mostly are oriented around rush or F...

Re: Eaglemut - Ekanta UI Launch Error with ESO-C Patch
The question isn't whether or not modded UIs are a form of cheating - that is a fact. The question is which interest we value more: that of tournament integrity, or that of EP interests. Blocking popular modded UIs would add yet another hurdle to switching from RE to EP. At the same time, the merit...

Re: Eaglemut - Ekanta UI Launch Error with ESO-C Patch
Ekanta for example expands your field of vision. That would count, to me, as having "more functions" as the standard UI. I prefer Ekanta for (1) the idle vill timeline at the top of the UI and (2) more unit details in a minimised view (eg: unit speed without needing max ui). The question ...

Re: Eaglemut - Ekanta UI Launch Error with ESO-C Patch
that is correct, all 3rd party ui are banned from EP Incorrect. Although this is an ongoing discussion. Unfortunately EP policy and EP development moves slowly. I've been using the Ekanta UI for ~10 years, so going back to the original is extremely painful and means I'm just opting to play more on ...

Re: ESOC Memes
How often does revolt happen in high level games? I'd assume most games don't even last that long. It's becoming more and more common in 3v3 / 4v4 EP "spin" games, where the average PR is probably around 30-32. Experience for me lately has been one in four games including a revolt of some...

Re: ESOC Patch suggestions, comments and discussion
Quick one - I am enjoying the idea of more dynamic maps and the ability to influence game play. For example - the inclusion of more high/low ground dynamics in recent EP maps has certainly had some small impact on game play. Can we take this idea further? EG: Bogged areas where unit speed is halved?...

Re: callen vs kynesie aka why aoe3 is a bad game
I agree - there are some match ups where a civilisation is dominant - i.e. they choose a strategy and, it does not matter what strategy the opponents do, the primary civilisation will win >75% of the time with even-skilled players. Japan vs Brit, where Japan does a defensive FF / FI, is one example....

Can we have a sticky with known facts about the game? There's a lot of fragmented information around and it's hard to actually know what we know and what is speculation.

Great! More please. Somppu vs Keynesie with the town dance is one of the most IQ9000 things I've ever seen. There's a lot of genius tactical-level play but genius strategy-level play is a little bit rarer.

Farewell after 14 years!
Hey friends After 14 long years, I have decided to formally put this game behind me. Getting married in the next couple of months and I'm at a point in my life and career where I feel I can no longer responsibly play aoe3 (I tend to get too hooked and will binge 10-20 games a week) that I must final...

Re: Ottoman Discussion Thread
20 range for abus is more of a design flaw than really a balance issue. Still it is a latent balance issue. Perhaps, but at close range they lose to most high-damage units unless you have a clear numerical parity or superiority (even sepoy / musk etc.) Given otto's poor eco, otto units will almost ...
