You don't need any patch to play. Most of the players on patches are higher skilled anyways. You may need some practice before you go joining those games.

King of on this topic - does anyone know where I can download those micro practice games I've seen on YouTube?

No tc no civ it just gives you and the opponent a few units and you practice micro. I think they're normally like 10 rounds or something?

Any help is greatly appreciated!
