It seems that we are all strongly divided on beliefs.
I hope that we can all come together after this and work on building a stronger ESOC.

Re: [POLL] Should I remove the IP checker?
I just wanted to add that I think an automated smurf/point trade/noobbash checker (if you don't display the IPs for ethical reasons, has nothing to do with making it more legal) could be a big feature for ESO-A, and I would definitely use it, because doing it manually is cumbersome. I feel it should...

Re: [POLL] Should I remove the IP checker?
Yeah so basically no one will sue for this, but it's still illegal, right ? The laws for this were not meant to be used for this case, whether it's illegal is whether the data stored can be considered "sensitive," and that case won't hold in court. To be perfectly clear, it's illegal, but...

Re: [POLL] Should I remove the IP checker?
Displaying is legal. Storing can be illegal. A packet analyzer displays IPs, which is legal. IPs are public in the sense that people can see them, however in software they are considered to be private information, and moreover information tied to the IP address (such as usernames) are considered pri...

Re: IrishFaithful vs Knuschelbär
Pretty sure you're not the only one on this board with a full time job, Irish. Unless you're working like, 90 fucking hours per week, then there's no legit reason in my mind for you to not be able to carve out some serious chunks of time. I work 50 hours a week, which is more than some, and fewer t...

Re: IrishFaithful vs Knuschelbär
I actually had no ill intends and it wasnt a threat. Nobody wants to make admin decisions ever, but Im just kinda afraid people are taking the liberties we give and just completely ignoring deadlines. I mean, most of you guys tend to play this game quite a lot, it always strikes me as extremely odd...

Re: IrishFaithful vs Knuschelbär
That's actually fascinating, due partly to your notorious antagonism – amply exemplified in this very post – and partly to your ignorance of both it and my intent. Of course, that doesn't invalidate your belief so much as it might certain other things. Just a suggestion, stop with the word salads. ...

Re: IrishFaithful vs Knuschelbär
I don't think that's what Jerom means at all. I think you just lean towards opposition because you think it makes you smart. There's a lot of people putting a lot of effort into making the tournament happen. It would not be nice to have to grant admin wins, so I hope you can take the round deadline...

It would not be nice to have to grant admin wins, so I hope you can take the round deadlines into account a little bit more moving forward. Re: IrishFaithful vs Knuschelbär
Can you both do 19 GMT SAturday? Then be ready to play the round of 8 on Sunday. I can play knush 19 GMT this Saturday. Prior to the miscalcs of timezones, I planned on skipping this weekend, but now I have to fit knusch in. If I win this weekend, I'm not going to do another series, I don't have ti...

Re: Timezones
Final refactor for me: I haven't actually run this code yet, so there are probably runtime errors, but I fixed other stuff. import moment from 'moment-timezone'; // User-defined preferences const timezone = 'America/Los_Angeles'; const dateFormat = 'DD MMM YYYY'; const timeFormat = 'h:mmA z'; // TOD...

Re: Timezones
Spent an hour typing this up, don't feel like contributing on this anymore. Would look something like this: // Time Strings // ============ // Ease interactions between users from different timezones. // // Problem // ------- // - Barrier of entry // - Error prone: // (+/-), (AM/PM) are easy to misc...

Re: Timezones
I don't think searching for "D:DD" only will be accurate (they could be talking about something totally irrelevant).. It's \d?\d:\d\d, then optionally am or pm, and finally gmt. So the string must contain "gmt" after. The following would get detected: - 3:00pm gmt - 3:00 PM GMT ...

Re: Timezones
Should be done client-side. Just loop through the posts text content and look for "<digit>:<digit><digit>" and try running date parse. Yeah I think that's going to be the best plan. Are you a developer? Something like this, can't work on it right now though. // Timezones: // ========== //...

Re: Timezones
What exactly would you want done with such a thing? As you linked, it obviously already exists, so it'd be silly to make our own and then put it on a page somewhere. Do you want it integrated with a particular page / post / etc? Any ideas about what it might look like when it was done to make it us...

Re: IrishFaithful vs Knuschelbär
I see now, I thought 18 GMT was 1 PM PST, it's actually 11 PM. I wanted to play at 1 PM. We can re-schedule tomorrow if you want or play in an hour. 11 AM? 11 AM yeah lol, not used to all these timezones and GMT. Crazy how people don't just adopt the american timezone, just a much better system.. W...
