Re: ESOC Crypto Corner

Sweet Jesus. In December 2017, unsolicited donations of over 100 bitcoins were sent to Antonopoulos by over a thousand followers of his work, after Roger Ver made a public post to Twitter on 5 December that complimented Antonopoulos' public speaking but questioned his investment choices. Re: ESOC Crypto Corner

It's actually a good thing. The fact that people create coins for the lolz shows how easy it is to create one and that there can (and likely will) be a rapid evolution in the world of blockchains.

Stuart Thomas was an MI6-agent until an eye defect had begun to impair his ability to use a firearm. He was transferred and is the head of Station G (Greece) in Colonel Sun.

Some "Bitcoin-currencies" might prevail regardless. Mentioning Amazon was logically unnecessary to arrive at this conclusion. Zoi is being a duck right now.

Are none of those runnable with Wine? I've been able to run MixMeister Fusion (pretty complex and expensive audio-mixing software) on Ubuntu. It's slightly buggy but nothing detrimental.

Re: ESOC Crypto Corner

It obviously exists on many sites; it is quite a normal thing to manipulate user experience (vide Facebook), but when it comes to gambling it is quite a bit more detrimental.

Re: ESOC Crypto Corner

I rather have a tendency to not blindly trust shit. Making definitive statements about conspiracies and considering their possibility is quite different; not considering conspiracies when there are huge motives is plain naïveté I'd say. Humans are generaly not honorable, and even less so in groups; ...

That's certainly not what I wanted to see and neither is is about me losing money in poker, and I have not made a definitive claim about the poker sites either—which is the case most of the time you accuse me of silly things (the last time being in this very thread accusing me of thinking that Bitco...

Re: ESOC Crypto Corner

You are assuming that everyone at the table are people just like you, which is not necessarily the case. They could be bots or affiliates/insiders. Furthermore, it may be profitable to give newcomers some beginner's luck to get them hooked and then rip them off their money which is precisely what I ...

Re: ESOC Crypto Corner

I really like the idea of open blockchain gambling, actually. The reason I don't play online-poker is because I am seriously suspicious of the fairness. I am fairly certain that I am not under the influence of confirmation bias, so it is either insane blessings by @ RNJesus 4811 or actual manipulati...

Re: Linix is everywhere, what you waiting ?

Yeah Riki, let's not pretend it is something it is not. I am at least as much (probably more) of an advocate for free software as you, but obviously many proprietary products are superior utility-wise simply due to the amount of money that went into developing them. Linux is simply both too low-leve...

Re: Linix is everywhere, what you waiting ?

The reality is that most support comes after utility, even if the development of the utility would be greatly accelerated with increasing support. It already has enough utility for you because you value privacy and security much more than others. The current GNU-community should perhaps spend more e...

Re: ESOC Crypto Corner

Well, the evidence there if you come and look for yourself, but there are no statistics other than the occasional cases where companies are caught and fined (but are undeterred). I cannot speak for USA, but I doubt there's a lot of difference between Sweden and most other western European countries....

Re: ESOC Crypto Corner

I just don't see the average family choosing to own cryptocurrency over fiat anytime soon. I don't think it is that far-fetched. With the lightning network this could all be implemented quite quickly, and there would be no real reason for companies to not accept BTC (or other coins) as payment. If ...

Re: ESOC Crypto Corner

50- and 60-year-olds are not necessary for wide adoption. Almost all 40-year-olds use their phones for bank payments and transfers—at least here in Sweden. Using Bitcoin does not have to be harder than that. In fact it is likely to be even easier because of the lack of bureaucracy and regulation. Ri...

The most annoying thing is that editing software with the exception of GIMP is just shit. Perhaps I haven't searched well enough, but if good video editors exist I can't fucking find them at least.

Re: Wtf is going on in Sweden

This is part and parcel of living in big cities; don't be silly. Millions of people around the world die in war, starvation, and disease each year, and you worry about getting just a bit stabbed? The least you can do is to get killed and negate some of the inequality.

Dolan you fucking bigot.

Re: ESOC Crypto Corner

I don't understand how you can even ask what the use case of Bitcoin is. Is it not evident? It may get replaced by a superior coin, sure, but the use case would be the same. Perhaps you think that I am one of a group of extremely few people who seriously see it as a means to free ourselves from the ...
