Re: A quick poll on firearms

Ban, because civilians shouldn't own warfare devices during peacetime. It's at odds with the purpose of having a police force. Neither should they be allowed just because some people like to target practice. The risks far outweigh the benefits to allow the general public to own firearms. Yes, the s...

Re: A quick poll on firearms

It's important to remember that guns are a tool of the trade for many people in these discussions. Ranchers need them for predator defense, hunters need them, and people who shoot for sport need them. No reason for automatics to be legal here. Maybe it's hometown bias but I think Canada has a relati...

Re: [RE] Need help!

Isn't Dutch into Japan pretty much the worst RE matchup? Good luck winning that. Anyways as others say your best bet is probably skirm cannon with ~15 Ruyter and 3+ Ruyter always in queue that you can cancel. Cav just does nothing against yumi once the yumi have mass and ups. Yabusame will kill your...

Re: Shaping The Development of AoE3:DE

Do you think with the DE MS will rework the graphics? It depends on what their goal is regarding keeping the low system requirement advantage. I imagine that they'll do little to no tweaking to the graphics since 1) the effects stand up pretty well and 2) they can't move the requirements up too muc...

Re: Poll: Which setting you want for AoE 4?

Now, I would be satisfied if they had World War I or World War II but they absolutely need to include the US civil war and other minor USA wars. Spain in Mexico and the Philippines, for example. Absolutely not. The 'MURICA focus is what took the aoe3 campaign off the rails in the first place (see a...

Re: General Answers and Questions INDIAN

Not having cannons really hurts turtling. Also, India can't really powerboom behind walls the same way that Ports can (for example) which kinda sucks for them long term. Gurkha are really strong behind walls though and siege ele, while better offensively, will take out enemy artillery pretty well. ...

Re: General Answers and Questions INDIAN

why cant I turtle with india?? They have the same rights as other civilizations Turtling isn't really viable in this game outside of kinda niche situations, it's balanced this way intentionally. It's much better to focus on a strong economy and map/resource control with your army. Nobody"s say...

Re: Zams or Howdah as I reach Fortress age?

Important to remember that once you approach 200 pop you'll have to switch to zambs again unless you have the elephant pop card, elephants are crazy pop inefficient. In almost all situations it's not really worth to do more than say ship 2 howdah and make 3ish if you're facing alot of cav. The howda...

Re: Japanese Discussion Thread

Ehh the problem with Japan is the way they are played, in fact the way they must be played, and played against. The fact that Japan has mini factories all over the map and can gather in base safely indefinitely means u have to constantly siege around the map and play a slow game, or go all in rush....

Re: ESOC Patch 3.1.1 Update and Treaty Patch Integration

I'm enjoying the new tradition of fixing a group stage map only after group stage is finished (see: 2nd chance, spring tourney).

Good job though guys! Jokes aside we really do appreciate the hard work put into the patch.

Re: Late Game Army Composition - Spain

Rod/lancer or rod/cannon is pretty vulnerable to pure goon mass, so mixing 10 skirms in to dissuade them is almost always worth IMO. Otherwise those are pretty strong compositions.

Re: Reasons why India is the lamest civ in the game, even worse than Sioux

Urumi lose to cav for several reasons that actually have almost nothing to do with multipliers. 1. Their main strength is overlapping splash damage. Cav bodyblocking denies this as cav are more spread out in formations by default, making urumi less effective. 2. They do ranged damage. Cav have range...

Lol it's fair to be confused. Howling means pet tigers because you can spam train them from your monks. They act as pseudo-cav in the same way Chinese disciples do.

Re: Late game army composition - India

If you have the elephant cards in your deck, then elephants + Gurkha + as many urumi as you can get. Otherwise, urumi + gurk/sepoy/zamb is good too. Camels don't scale as well as elephants when comparing with all relevant cards sent, but they are better if you don't have the elephant cards in (which...

Re: I will not re Vs Tedere12

I wouldn't either since Tedere agreed to it at the time, but technically you had no reason to demand or take a regame in that situation. Rules clearly state that if the game is casted that you can't decide to RE before 2 minutes, it is on the casters and they didn't agree with your assessment of be...

I haven't tried the cons gren strat myself, but I feel if Japan decides to push you then 3 Otto Huss would be vastly superior in a fight vs the grens, plus without sending GFA the crates don't match 4 Otto vills. 5% eco bonus is negligible at that point in the game and will not make a difference in ...

Re: Indian Discussion Thread

Does anybody have some good India vs Japan MU recs? You should rush the fuck out of japan, unless you are h20, then you can contain and boom. The India vs Japan MU seems to me like a unpredictable match. I rushed so hard and still japan booms. As sieging shrines with sepoys and gurks gives him some...
