Re: Chokes and flamers
I guess after a second of attacking, record the damage a unit takes. Divide that value by the base attack of your unit, and you'll have its ROF. Actually, that's DPS, nevermind... To find the ROF you would need to very accurately record the time it takes between two instances of damage.

I think so. After all, they are pretty much mercs. If you're paying gold for a foreign soldier, that would make him a hired mercenary, regardless of tags.

I don't know what happened at all, but this was a very well written report. I felt like I was reading some official medical analysis.

Re: Unique Units
Trainable Spahi would be interesting, it would make Otto more viable in treaty-ish games. Not that I like Otto lamers on RE in the first place, but maybe on EP it would be a cool feature. I thought I saw a thread completely about that earlier.

Re: Missing games?
Probably just a server issue. It's recording a lot of information for a lot of people around the clock (and the world) so there's bound to be errors. For the most part it tells you what it needs, and I think flooding some guy's twitter is not the right way to approach it.

Re: Late/Early Game Army Composition - China
Yeah, you are probably right. Btw, is there a specific reason why i never see people create the imperial army? Is that because meteor>flail? To be honest I'm not sure. In a recent game Chrisie said Iron Flails were bad but WickedCossack gave them the benefit of the doubt. In my personal experience ...

Re: Late/Early Game Army Composition - China
Speaking of china in colonial, is the 500f card that gives 8ckn 1 flamethrower good? In vs 500 food is more or less the same as 170g 170w so i think it might be useful, since a flamethrower has 600 ranged hitpoints and also deals good damage to inf if left untouched. Also, is a combination of old h...

Re: Late/Early Game Army Composition - China
Just wanted to bring this back up. I still don't know entirely what to do for Chinese armies...seems pretty hard to balance them. My Changdao's pretty much die off instantly even with good micro in team games and whatnot, and I end up with 50+ Skirmishers. Usually at that point I make Forbidden armi...

Re: Missing games?
It happened to me as well recently, a QS game did not count despite the connection with ESO wasn't interrupted. Nonetheless, I don't think there's much we can do about it... here i explain better what is happening, A lot of players are complaining about missing games on ELO, happened to me too, for...

Unique Units
Hi Simple question today: What's the best way to field civ-unique units, like Urumi/Spahi/Dog Soldiers/Skull Knights? I am not sure if I am missing any unique mechanisms in game besides shipments/fire pits/ age up politicians. It seems tough to get a formidable mass of Urumi between fights, since th...

Re: Late Game Army Composition - British
I seem to hear quite the opposite, I hear how good massed LB are, but I have played more with Musk Huss Rocket and that is pretty strong with good micro. @pecelot

It is Unknown actually. It was a comp stomp and turned out to be a pretty bad map tbh, but host refused to change it and a 4v4 vs bots is quite boring, but well.
You should play some 3v4/3v5 with me

Late/Early Game Army Composition - China
Hi Esocks, What do you think about army compositions for China? This is a tough one because China has banner armies and a variety of unique artillery. Most games I play out age II, I will go mostly Old Han + Standard armies, a decent 3 unit comp that can trade well with the right micro. Age III and ...

Re: Micro help
Thanks so much for the advice. I have been playing a lot of China lately and the xbow pike micro is suddenly a lot more relevant, even in the fortresss age. Speaking of China, which is more preferred; Old Han reformed or Territorial Banner Armies?

Micro help
Hi Esocks How are you supposed to micro bow/pike compositions? I assume you're not supposed to run the pikes into musks and get them killed, but it still seems like my pikes get microed down by musks too fast to beat down cav. I've also been trying to do LB/pike, and that seems even harder because o...
