Re: Rumours of AOE4 closed-alpha/beta

Is aoe4 just an interesting topic or all this aoe4 tagging is leading new users to the site?

Re: Rumours of AOE4 closed-alpha/beta

By the way DEs are made by FE which has the headquarter in Redmond iirc. RE has the hq in Vancouver so those supposed 10 people are there for AOE4. Assuming what has been leaked is true, it is actually possible that they started AOE4 some time ago. Then again the old AAA title post by Microsoft was ...

Re: Indian Starter Pack for the Beginner Elifent

I just did some testing on Arkansas with 4 vills on wonder and it is basically 4.40 with good treasures (90f 60w). Without treasures it would be about 5 min as it is normal to be.

Re: Indian Starter Pack for the Beginner Elifent

those numbers are hardly reachabke even without TP. Let's say that with TP, 4v on wonder and cutting one vill you age at 5 min.

Re: AOE4 beta has been released!

It is fine if the gameplay is like aoe2. Just keep what's good about aoe3 and other rts games, like a meta resource (experience) and some in game tech tree choices (like age up bonus, or unique ups from cards).

Re: AOE4 beta has been released!

It is a fact though that a lot of AoE2 players are in Vancouver these days at Relic's. If [redacted] is making up this story right now i don't know, but at this point it is not really hard to believe what he is saying. [redacted] Also nothing has been done about the leaks that there were in the AoE...

Re: AOE4 beta has been released!

I dont buy it frankly. Game is like 3 years away from release. There are all the DE to complete and playtest (just look at how long it took for aoe1:DE from the announcement date).
There is probably nothing at all ready to play yet.

Re: Changing water for EP 4

Alternatively we can just remove the 4 vill building cap so that they build marginally faster but at some cost.

Re: You Can't Out-Scale Japan - Stop Trying

Jap units are all above par which compensates the marginally inferior eco in terms of better trades. In a supremacy game it takes forever to prove the point that Jap late eco is inferior.

Let's be honnest : it's Amsterdam only because goodspeed is dutch and 5149 made the tread^^ There was like 50 people who die by terrorism in Paris in the last decade and I guess like 100 millions people came here, so the risk is ridiculous^^ I also think that there are more fr and ger player than d...

Amsterdam > Bruxelles for holiday purposes. It's even more centralized so more fair for all Europeans.
I've been twice in Paris already. Also I think it's more expensive to sleep and live there (probably flight too). Also less safe on top of that.

Re: Balance - 400 wood [TOGGLEABLE] plantations

Rice paddies were designed by a completely different game designer. That's why they are so different. They are good for two reasons: 1. They have the same gather rate in lag or no lag because Vils don't walk between gathering. 2. The original building costs and tech availability (plantations cannot...

It's bad show but there is no rule that force players to complete the series. Of course once you forfeit you can't go back

Re: You Can't Out-Scale Japan - Stop Trying

Brits kinda outscale Japan in the first 8 minutes of the game. I mean Brit boom just kicks in a bit faster and you can make more units in the first 10 minutes. After that walking time just kills any civ efficiency vs japan. Anyway it depends vastly on the starting conditions and where shrines are pl...

Re: The great discussion about global warming

97% is basically equal to the truth in the science world. I don't think there is much to debate about this topic. There are always some scientists who try to prove the rule wrong, and that's good, that's how science work. However, here there is simply too much imbalance between the two opinions to ...

Re: Changing water for EP 4

Now that we are at it we could reduce the building time for outposts. It isn't exactly an anti-water change but it is something worth considering because outposts just build insanely slowly for basically no reason. I think the reason originally was to discourage tower spam (like tower rush) but that...

Re: Indian Starter Pack for the Beginner Elifent

Well the greedy way has proven to be out of fashion in the current meta, unless it is used to reach fortress within a more reasonable time (and with enough eco to support unit spam, unit ups, housing, etc.). Stagecoach hardly adds anything to the market based builds except for some more lasting pote...

Re: Official AoE 4 Thread

The logic is that AOE saga proceeds through history in a clear chronological order. That is except for the 2 spin-offs AOM and AOEo. Now they're calling this one AOE 4 so by that logic is going to follow the same chronological order. They can break this logic of course, just it seems unlikely, espec...

What has SC to do with AOE? AOE follows history, SC is set in a hypothetic sci-fi world.
