The rework on water resources was already a way to put a natural cap to how many boats you make. Right now the optimal amount on EP maps is 16-20 which I'd say it's a decent number. Considering one or two ups it is about the same of 4 stagrecoach TPs for about 1k wood and a card.

Ye docks are no way near as good as a TC. Limited amount of boats you can make, plus they gather slower.
Water for "land" civs is definetly the less compromising change we can make.

To be fair with 1.5k walls you can probably just play standard (e.g. stagecoach into musk falcs) and win.

Ye broadside usually snipes off one cannon and damages another one. Just spread cannons and it is less effective. Anyway I dont see the problem, we are talking of big scale games where couple cannons lost is not big deal.
The game is an old one on RE.

lol... typical to argue with you about this, all you say sounds all cool and dandy on paper, but no one does it or can do it in a game. monitors may become available in IV, but theyre not on IV stats that way. like light cannons become available in IV, but are still age3 stats. you totally oversell...

Please remember that warships have stupid cards. That paired with free healing and swingy outcomes means that if your civ doesn't have better cards or even worse your deck doesn't have the same number of water cards you can't expect to win water. Ofc i ment special ability. If you have 2 monitors its just ability shoot any artillery. And its not fun to lose expensive artillery for free like that. Special ability has cool down time. Two monitors is shot ton of resources. If the opponent can afford that you can afford stuff like spamming from...

there is a big problem with these patch changes, and its the euro centricity of it, both when it comes to the nerfs and buffs. There's a reason why TAD ships had less range than euro ships, see Kynesie's thread for the details about it. And the culverin change only adresses european anti ship issue...

I'm not even sure artillery is supposed to counter warships. They're pretty much the same. Mortars do counter warships regardless of the projectile. Just the plot is more obvious now because it's leading to the end (e.g big ass company rerunited to go behind the wall, or Daneyres-Jon love story). Just the plot has less twists and it's quite sped up due to short amount of episodes.
