Re: EP VC Boom

What SirCallen wrote in both his posts is exactly what I've gotten from the mu. They do run out of hunt relatively quick, can also follow you up with semi, and their base is hard to break. I find cav pressure and pressuring while booming is the best option so far too. I guess I should just be more p...

Re: Efficient Swings to kill a vill

Hmm an app would be very sick. I don't know if it's super worth your time though as we already receive great statistics from the post game graphs and most calculations can be done on the fly when needed

EP VC Boom

Hi guys I've been playing a lot on EP lately and it seems like brits vc boom is pretty potent. I've been able to stop it if the opponent goes very greedy early on and skips rax. But how can I punish this sort of strat early on? Any tips in punishing brits (not necessarily vc) early on are also welcome

Re: Efficient Swings to kill a vill

If someone set up a program with important numbers as the variables, these sort of calculations could be made very quickly. I see matlab working real well for this but I'm too lazy to find a pirated copy

Edit: Python programming would work just as well imo

Re: civ rules for twc tourney are dumb

Every time there are some balance changes H2O comments that although minor, they can have huge impacts on high level gameplay. My point in saying this is that as players we need to adapt to these changes. Also, you should take into account that the rules were made for high level play by high level p...

Re: Light inf

The mix up comes from the fact that the vanilla game was expanded upon. In vanilla Light inf tag was used to tag skirms, archers, etc.. and Heavy Inf includes hand inf and muskets. In subsequent expansions the "Light Inf" from vanilla was retagged to just "Infantry" and the heavy...

Re: [RE]INDIA VS RUSSIA

I haven't watched the replay but Indias age up time is crucial in this mu. You want to have Agra down as soon as you get 800 food. A defensive Agra vs Russia is usually a must since they can get forward bh up before you finish aging. Make sure to always scout every match up as you have two elephants...

Re: best civ for strategy with firecrackers

As said above, they're a very situational unit. Sometimes I use them against turtle strategies to break town center/fort defense. Some important numbers to remember are that it takes 6 to kill tc and 5 to nearly kill fort (I believe fort lives with 300~ hp) so having 10 or so units to finish off the...

Re: suggestion for small tournament TWC

I think Iwillspankyou makes a good point, natives are very unique and offer a lot of style options. Aztec FI was such a unique strat that it took the community years to land on it, and once they did they nerfed it cause it was too strong. Imo that lends to the eurocentric tourney meta

Maphacking

Hi all, in the recent weeks I've seen some people accuse others of mh on various occasions (more than regularly) and played against people that I felt were using mh (abondoning hunts right before raids, finding treasures extremely quickly with 1 explorer, etc). Apparently this guy CrickityCrabs has ...

Re: ESOC water maps balance

I think there need to be more resources for water control to be worthwhile. Apart from that it's alright, just people don't play sea styles because it's harder and the ep naturally favors land Eco booms. TP lines offer an easier alternative to increasing your Eco and the wall nerf definitely hurts i...
