Re: Personality types

Mine says Logician INTP, sounds about right. Fun test but I don't know what to do with the result.

Also unsurprisingly according to the poll we have 29 Introvert vs 5 Extrovert

Re: Announcing the ESOC AUTUMN CHAMPIONSHIP 2017

I'd love to see a map like Amazonia played competitively (or Celyon/Caribbean) just to see what people come up with. Probably won't happen in the near future for an ESOC main event though.

Re: On endurance in competitive AoE 3

You'd have to provide an argument as to why endurance is something we should care about. It is tested somewhat in later stages of supremacy tournaments when you can play up to 9 games in a series, and in the past even 11 games. We've seen a number of 3 hour series recently. This would constitute the...

Where is aiz, kaiser, h20, dia :( Relax bruv, the big dawgs like to create an atmosphere of suspense so that their sign up shall receive the full attention and adulation of the ESOC fans! Get ready with the trumpets and fanfare 1hr before the deadline to celebrate numerous tournament-saving sign ups!

Re: Ur favourite movie

Just watched Zero Days, great documentary on the stuxnet virus and cyber warfare. It's presented really well so even if you know nothing on the subject and it's not normally something you'd be interested in it's still very compelling.

Would recommend.

Re: Moving the Covered Wagon shipment to the Colonial Age

I actually think this is the sort of change that could be very healthy for the game. Even just changing the way the TC build limit works like LordRaphael or Garja have suggested so that they're buildable in Colonial or increase by 1 every age would go a long way in adding some more depth to the gam...

Re: Moving the Covered Wagon shipment to the Colonial Age

Noice maths buddy, while the calculations are clean I have a few points on your findings. Your final column isn't a metric I'd value in a game of aoe3. When comparing worth of the builds you're better off just looking at 'Res paid back' subtract 'Opp cost'. According to your spreadsheet the town cen...

Re: Moving the Covered Wagon shipment to the Colonial Age

It's probably one of those things that sounds really good but actually isn't. Maybe if you're defending a rush from aztec/india or turtling against a sioux it could be good. Other considerations are turtle water plays. But against the traditional semi-FF's/FF's I suspect you're going to be too behin...

Calling it a deck or not is just semantics. At the end of the day you're still choosing from 131 cards if you have a complete free choice.

Re: AOE3:DE Proposal To Microsoft

Yeah the HC levels are a nobrainer and would definitely get us some players but I don't think it's enough to convince the bulk of the naysayers. My judgement on that may be off but it feels that way having read a lot of the criticism. Anyway it's not either or. It addresses the main criticism of th...

Re: AOE3:DE Proposal To Microsoft

Thing is there need to be "radical" changes for people to give this game another try. And this change seems radical to outsiders but isn't. That's why it works. Simple quality of life improvements won't get people to think " :hmm: I didn't like this game before but now that they chan...

Re: Best TV shows

I've been enjoying the first 2 seasons of Narcos. Normally I hate stories centered around drugs but it's shot really well and I really like that they do a 1/3rd of the show in Spanish. Would recommend. Idk if the 3rd season will hold up, I have yet to start it.

Re: AOE3:DE Proposal To Microsoft

Starcraft 2 has building rotation and over there it adds to competitive play especially because of how the terrain is and how you can create choke points. To a lesser extent it can be used in AOE:III too to create choke points. It's a feature that should be in any game that has a "building stu...

Re: AOE3:DE Proposal To Microsoft

Well, there are a lot of players who play nilla and own tad. Your point that balance changes would change their perception is irrational. Everybody has a different opinion on balance. Some players prefer the old balances some the new. I am thinking about a browser where you can simply host a nilla ...
