Re: European politics
Yes, but still it wouldn't be like that. The shade of colors is simply not natural. I am not saying they are heavily edited maybe just the auto enhance feature. For 4 different photos taken at different angles at different places to have near same shade of colours has to be either edited or a coinc...

Re: European politics
Sure, but I know that I could earn 50 to 80% more in the US right now, and costs are not that much higher. Later on the difference gets even worse. I am not saying that living in Europe isn't the better deal overall but if you just look at the money, you'll end up with more in the US if you are in a...

u2012 I have not heard of this and I do not understand why it wouldn't show up. The doctors are still paid. But by an insurance company. These are not owned by the state (at least in Germany) but regulated and controlled by the state. I do not know why any services charged by a do...

Re: European politics
It is a nightmare to calculate and the US / Western Europe comparison is difficult. I once tried with a friend and we came to the conclusion that it depends on your income. With a high paying job you are much better of in the US. Cost of living are higher, but taxes lower and most importantly salari...

Re: European politics
Actual healthcare costs in Germany is complicated indeed. If you are in the public health insurance system, what you pay depends on your income, not your health status. If you earn more than ~ EUR 65k you have the option to chose a private insurance company. They will not charge you based on your in...

The wipe-your-hard-drive-bug wasn't necessary, but more people play, everybody plays on the same platform and it looks much better.

Does anybody know if there will be anything comparable to the japan elo civ stats? They had a table with the different matchups and the winrates of all games played, which was very useful, but they stopped updating it in 2012.

I have reported this in the official forum. It only happens in ranked gamed (quicksearch). Casual games work just fine.
Thanks for the idea with the VPN, will try!

Definitive Edition 2v2 Issue HELP
Has anyone managed to successfully play a 2v2?
My teammate and I are in the same LAN and every time we try to start a 2v2, the non-hosting player receives this error:
Does anybody have an idea?

Re: New Hotkeys in Definitive Edition
Thanks u1170 I even figured it out myself after, even though it took me some time. I probably will even keep it with some adjustments, I've always used the Goodspeed setup (in his guide). That one always had the problem that you couldn't easily include hotkeys for making units. No...

Re: COVID-19 / Coronavirus Outbreak
too many words probably. u1779 do you have any sound estimate that more people are actually dying from the lockdown than the virus? I haven't seen one. (I am quite sure China wouldn't have gone into lockdown if they'd figured out that they could just sit it out.) Or is that just a...

Re: COVID-19 / Coronavirus Outbreak
Another way to evaluate the effects of the Coronavirus is to estimate the years of life lost by those who died instead of looking at the risk of dying for the people who do not have Covid-19. Of those who died, men lost on average 14 years of their lifetime, women 12 ( https://wellcomeopenresearch.o...

Re: COVID-19 / Coronavirus Outbreak
Also, I don't like to artificially differentiate between "the economy" and health care. Economic growth is heavily influenced by people believing in a (slightly) better future. If nothing is changing for the better, investments will not happen. You need people to go to work. If you just le...
