Re: ESOC Crypto Corner

Poker isnt gambling, precisely because its about far more than just luck (calculations, bluffing, reading opponents). Gambling is going to a slot machine or playing roulette or so, where skill components are minimal and the luck component is huge. But ok, back to crypto, curious to see if this lates...

Re: ESOC Crypto Corner

Its close to a zero-sum game imo. Sure if you make money someone else loses some. However, a higher trading volume in the end is beneficial for the coin and the additional awareness is also a positive in this phase? I dont see trading as gambling, even though crypto atm is an undeveloped, young and ...

Re: new PR calculating formula

That suggestion comes closer, but is still based on a flawed initial PR calculation and assumes the 50% win/loss. This isnt SC2, the system that matches you here doesnt do as well. And it doesnt work well for higher PRs which are closer to the max, so there would need to be a different multiple from...

Re: Tit vs Hazza54321

85 , assuming thats all from your pc, specs seem fine. Connection isnt ideal but should be enough, -assuming its constant-, as in similar at different times and days. I didnt get that from your post. Since you dont have that much room to play with, things like loading a youtube video (background mu...

Re: Tit vs Hazza54321

@GS I.e. you can tell anything online, without proper proof no one knows if its the truth. Same with pingtests that don't clearly proof its yours. 5394 yes, he can check the FPS too, true, during fights then and not just in the first minutes of the game. However, then you know IF its wrong, I also l...

Re: Tit vs Hazza54321

If you are really serious about trying to fix this, then I applaud that attitude and you should consider the following: - Do not one, but multiple speedtests at different days and times to get a better picture of your average connection quality. Also, do not only check with a server closeby, but one...

Re: Tit vs Hazza54321

I appreciate your intention Goodspeed, which has often been my way of going forward, but I think this is a bit over-optimisic considering you are asking someone online, who is in this position based on experiences by other players, to simply state the opposite. I got a quantum pc which I use for aoe...

Re: Tit vs Hazza54321

I find it quite dissapointing how bad people are in evaluating game situations (regardless of lagg), such as the canon issue, the "map presence", civ combos, etc. Sure I dont know everything, but i do know a lot if we talk about teamgames. People with far less experience and results to sho...

Re: Tit vs Hazza54321

85 : - I never said you didnt use rules/civ combos bad. I think you did fine with that yes. - Game 1 we had to first pick, so in fact you could have countered with any combo you wanted. But I can undestand you didnt want to use your main civs there ;) Either way fre/rus isnt bad but our combo was b...

Re: Tit vs Hazza54321

I see an interesting pattern, from previous tourneys and here again: - On land maps (not just full with food etc, even klondike), which are the biggest part of the game map pool and competitive tournaments as well, other teams win like Ramex/Me did and Hazza/King. - On water maps Tit/Kyn win. While ...

Re: Who should go to the final ?

There is some places where you just can't get a good internet (it's the case at my parent's home). I guess that's the same for them, would you change house just to improve your aoe experience ? . I think its more or at least also about their PCs (it laggs during battles mostly). We live in 2018 now...

Re: Who should go to the final ?

1) Yes, which was good that you did (for either team). Idk what you want to say here 2/3) Backherding usually is misplay sure, but when there is a laggspike that causes it, that makes it questionable. Which is why I let this go on and we played, so again, not sure what the point here is. Its about t...

Re: Who should go to the final ?

Because there is always so much misinformation and people drawing conclusions based on half the facts (hey its almost the 'real' world)...: - Ramex12 is Ramex. Ramex19 is his account which I use(d). - We did point out several times that it was so laggy, also in the games before. The caster itself ev...

Re: ESOC Crypto Corner

5310 , interesting poem Well said, Veni. Though I disagree with central bank-crypto being inevitably "forced upon us". If the development of cryptos and the infrastructure of the internet itself progress sufficiently, decentralization may very well be available to anyone who wishes to par...

Re: ESOC Crypto Corner

The form of capitalism we see around us now is far from true capitalism. Markets are not free and open at all, just look at advantages of the multinationals in ways of loans, subsidies, favorable regulations, etc. I dont think real capitalism would be bad. I doubt though we ever achieve that. The id...

they will win in time to micro easily, thats not even up for discussion. And they also will win with more than one character and non-mirror matchups, it just means they need a bit more time to learn it The only question is indeed when you play teamgames, if the AI's can coordinate (how much is the i...

In aoe3 this would never work as I just take the 95w and 140f which i randomly find, while he is working on the 80f and 70xp and gg AI, lol.

But ye, except for the fact that LoL is a silly game, sure AI beats humans

Re: Shaping The Development of AoE3:DE

Yes, the HC issue is indeed a big one for people starting with Aoe3 Multiplayer. Always found that a weird way to start off. Though there are other issues as well, which keep aoe3 from being very competitive unfortunately. For example: - Pathing can sometimes mess up hard compared to other RTS (and ...

Re: Shaping The Development of AoE3:DE

part of competitive gaming is to have to work on your eco constantly, thus making vills yourself. Especially when under pressure like with raids and fights, keeping the eco going is what seperates the really good from the good players. If your vills were auto-made, this would all go away... Plus, in...

Re: Non western countries

NATO isnt the kind and peaceful organization it pretends to be, and unfortunately many in the West easily believe it is, its that simple. So, is it NATO's fault that many people mistake it for Mother Theresa? - First of all, i wanted to make a point, and hopefully get people to do some research the...
