Re: Poll - Hardest civ to play

Hmm I think with Aztecs they are not necessarily hard to play, rather very different and also underplayed. Hardest civ to master is probably India, although sepoys being so strong makes them a lot easier to play than they otherwise would be.

Re: Changing water for EP 4

Yeah that's why I think we should consider greatly improving dock attack vs ships. Perhaps range, too.

"Even those maps will become all about water if we make fishing boats cheap enough that both civs will want to build them early. The goal is to make this worth it, but not make it so good that the player will disregard land altogether. That's why we need to be careful about having too many res...

Yeah I like that in shooters. Was a fan of Far Cry 2 as well, where you would often spend some time thinking about how to approach a mission instead of just going in guns blazing.

Re: PLAYERUNKNOWNS BATTLEGROUNDS

@gibson That's great though. A shooter where you are super paranoid about even being seen is doing it right. Intense and immersive. I think I'd prefer it over PUBG, if I played shooters in the first place that is.

Re: Changing water for EP 4

Take it easy 282 you aren't being very constructive. People disagreeing with your view aren't necessarily destructive. That's not what I meant. You didn't bring any arguments, just threw sarcasm at me. I might have misunderstood your intentions; nevertheless, the number of resources on water is alr...

Re: Changing water for EP 4

Take it easy 282 you aren't being very constructive. Water needs to be a finite resource, and it needs to finish much earlier than it currently is. Right, because making fishing boats that will mostly be useless after some time is too OP. It depends entirely on the cost of fishing boats. You are abo...

Yes I didn't think it was relevant. You mentioned a scenario that you think is fun to play. It's still equally subjective.

Re: Changing water for EP 4

That's fair enough but the reality is that the vast majority of high level players don't agree with your statement that water games are fun to play, and that they reward skill. Because of this, water games are rare, and that's not going to change on its own. So whether you are right or not doesn't e...

Whales are okay, but preferably not more than 2. ... you can also assume your desires and remove all whales, and remove all water too... And remove all fishing cards ups too.. ? Re: Changing water for EP 4

It's not an overall nerf to water. Boats would be almost the same price as vills, and a dock is only 200w.
If 70w is not cheap enough, it can be changed to 60. Either way, the intention is to create more incentive to go water for all civs. Not less.

Re: Changing water for EP 4

I just want to know what happened to the "change as little as possible" principle that used to be this core principle. Now the game could be completely changed if france and germany start going on water for example Nothing happened to it. The problem is that to fix water, big changes are ...

Re: Changing water for EP 4

there is a big problem with these patch changes, and its the euro centricity of it, both when it comes to the nerfs and buffs. There's a reason why TAD ships had less range than euro ships, see Kynesie's thread for the details about it. And the culverin change only adresses european anti ship issue...

Re: About stalling the game & respect

:hmm: I would almost watch the vod just to see what all this fuss is about. Anyway I sympathize with Callen's point of view; it triggers me when people intentionally don't resign a game that they know is over.
