Re: Fixed and mirrored maps
If maps are fixed I think it's better to have the map already explored because I rather favor adaption skills over memory. I kind of dislike the fact that you can go straight into the fog to build a TP or get a good treasure just because you played the map before (this is already the case anyway). P...

Re: Some Crazy Tournament Ideas
Some of these are crazy and maybe difficult technically, but here we go, (I try not to repeat things, I like some of the ideas mentioned already): ⋅ Rich home city : Like nomad, but with many more building wagons (factory, outpost, 3 TC wagons, fort, arsenal, saloon, barracks, stable, art...

Re: Pull" Trick" discussion
You can't remove it without major redesign. I'm pretty sure it exists to help pathing, not to do long distance pull tricks. Imagine you walk 30 units and they're formed like a square. Now turn slightly left while walking. Every single unit to the right would fall behind due to longer distance, and t...

Re: What is the type of playstyle you want to see/play the most?
I think you're asking the wrong question with that poll. I don't want to vote because my answer is: 'A healthy blend of different styles'. I think a good start would be to reduce the cost of mills and plantations and possibly make the upgrades cheaper (or at least research more quickly). Perhaps la...

Re: How to herd
Actually villager position does not matter, at least not as the only parameter, and you can test this: - Start herding a hunt towards your TC, while standing as far away as possible from the hunts, shooting the animal with the greatest distance from your TC - When you get a backherd the first time, ...

Re: Map in progress
I agree with Ashvin, I think the terrain type can make a huge difference to the impression if you use more than one, even if they're kind of similar. How about some lone trees towards the edges of the map? And maybe some useless "dead" items, like dead trees, bushes etc? Especially small o...

Re: We should get crazy with maps
Bad - a majority tend to avoid currently existing "crazy" maps for ranked play, sticking to very basic style maps. - Some crazy maps will likely reward some civs more than others, and therefore see very few civs featured. - having a regular tournament with crazy maps mixed in would likely...

Hello,
Please pick times to play if you're available (please give more than 24h in advance so I can confirm):
Weekdays: 19-23 GMT+2
weekends: 08-10 GMT+2
If times don't suit please suggest something different,
Thanks

Re: Looking for a chess partner
Does anyone around 1400 elos on chess.com (ie 1600 on lichess) want to play some games with me? I'm new to chess.com so don't know my rating... IRL elo (years ago) got to 1600-1800 or something when I played some tourneys, if that says anything at all... Do you play 5/10 minute games? How do I add ...

1121 You seem to have missed my main point which was only about judging a person you never seen based on statistics, that's not for you personally but for people using the statistics in such ways. That's all :) The second point was that statistics are difficult. I agree immigration cause issues, se...

Yes it's human nature to judge people based on looks and origin, and especially when fear is involved, BUT we should all try our best to get rid of this and give everyone the benefit of the doubt, otherwise we get nowhere! We're never gonna get the best people for the job, and so many will feel left...

Reading this thread it sounds like Brit players don't have any army... He only needs to kill 1-2 infantry units while you siege to come out as a winner. Let's assume it will cost you 2 pikes to kill a house: Scenario 1: - Brit is population capped. He will build a new house because of it. You lose r...

On some phones you can "add to homescreen" if you just want the app icon on your phone. I don't know what would automatically become cleaner and easier for an app. It would require that we do all the website work in 3 places. Website, android app, ios app. And people would still want to us...
