Having a politician unlock something that isn't available otherwise is bad design in general.

You probably put units into fishing boats, then put fishing boats into trek wagons, then put trek wagons into 1 boat.

Re: Buff China, Aztecs and Sweeden a bit.
If a balance patch makes many useless small changes then the game isn't the game we grew up with anymore. It doesn't make it more balanced nor more enjoyable.harcha wrote:If they don't make a difference what are you worried about?

Re: Buff China, Aztecs and Sweeden a bit.
1) That is an awful lot of IFs. What are you worried about? Do you want to not have new balance patches? 2) Why would those unit changes be so bad? You can still play RE if you want to. 3) Spanish and Lakota are actually top tier civs and the TP nerf was welcome for these examples. What we have now...

Re: Buff China, Aztecs and Sweeden a bit.
Imagine what consequences making the game balanced can have. Many changes weren't geared toward balance but just viability of stuff. Then you didn't understand what I said. If you make not-optimal ways to play the game optimal, then you get new optimal. If you get new optimal the years of balancing...

Re: Buff China, Aztecs and Sweeden a bit.
EP was in the process of balancing for many years, and after those changes were all copied to DE, why would we change anything? Which changes are you refering to? Because French insane start and Port 5% are DE things. Back then French start was nerfed. It's only the last few EP iterations that reve...

The interesting part would be everyone is gonna be a noob at day 1 in Aoe4 ,ppl who have good RTS mechanics or have played aoe2 or aoe3 can perform somewhat better with their apm ,but the challenge starts from day 1 to theory craft the best builds for each civ and climb on ladder ,mechanics ,BO is ...

Yeah, all the different shipments you can send make this game more strategy oriented than any other RTS.

because the map rng code is haphazard, hunts are spectacularly asymmetrical, there is sometimes inadequate food to even age up, trees are too far from tcs, theres a massive food treasure that always lets one player get a 30s faster ageup... shall i go on Well, there is a reason why it is the most p...

Yeah if vanilla maps and hotkeys weren't so bad vanilla would be a perfectly balanced game.deleted_user wrote:The thinking is too narrow. Rather, one should ask not which, but how many expansions to remove. And the answer is all of them.

Re: DE list of issues
Would it be reasonable to add the antiherd(backherd) mechanics? Even though maps start with a lot more resources now, sometimes the second and third hunts will spawn just far enough that it will backherd when is just a few shots of getting under the tc. No because then (theoretically) you could ste...

I started playing online around february 2014, I played in gameranger for 3-4 months, then bought a ESO account and became 1st lt TAD. It took me half a year to become major, then half a year to become lt col, and another half a year to become colonel and reach pr 37 TAD. The 2 things that kept me a...
