How do you decide if a civ is good or bad though ? A mediocre player with an op civ might get a 50% winrate, while a top player with a bad civ will get 75%. The multiplier against 'shock infantry' is shared by pikes and musks etc, so in that sense it's a variation of the 'cavalry' tag.
But more multipliers are hidden: Goons do 2.25 against cav type 'shock infantry', and skirms do 2.0 against goon type (eagle runner knight).

Came across him just today. Tried Solution #1, Alt+F4 before the game starts (you can tell by his avatar), but unfortunately sometimes it still affects your rating. Then tried Solution #2 which was to disable the internet once the game starts, and it has worked well so far.

it performs extremely well in mid and low skill games It is just your estimation or assumption. Without stats we cannot say anthing about it. I don't think japan has a higher win rate in mid and low skill games. Most unadvanced players cannot balance eco and military well, and struggle to face RUSH...
