Re: What do goons beat?
Is it worth it to make an artillery foundry and a culv just to deal with a 2 falc shipment? If you have time, I think it's always good 1) It gives you an excuse to send 1k wood or 1k gold which is wayyyyyyy more efficient than a unit shipment 2) You only spend 800 resources, which is much less than...

Re: Amazing Recorded Games for YouTube
Builds, civ overviews, basic and standard strats as well as common MU advice would be great. For instance, in one vid you do a France overview. Quickly go over pros and cons of civ. Then move on to strats and build orders then at the end throw in a little bit of advice for what to do in a mirror and...

You should do lower level games where you give advice. These are the types of vids that appeal to the noobs who make up 90% of your audience.

Re: What do goons beat?
If the opponent makes falcs and surrounds them with infantry. What do you do. Obviously culvs would wreck, but if you don't have an AF they take to long to make . Generally I just run in with goons and shoot the falcs but is there a better way?

What do goons beat?
I've got a quick question. What do goons beat and what do they lose to. Obviously they beat cav and lose to RI but what about others. Is it worth it to engage musk with them? What about falcs?

Re: Cocaine Economic Theory. When to switch to mills from hunts.
The math makes sense, though you forgot a few things. First of all, spending a shipment just to upgrade mills is super undesirable, considering you could instead ship crates or military that offer an instant advantage. The second point is that there are also shipments you can send (furrier I believe)...

Don't click urge icons when training units. Just use hotkeys. Imo spamming the m key is better than spam clicking, and is much faster than having to move your mouse around.

Re: Control Groups
I am not very good, but I use control groups for units and buildings: 1 for explorer, 2&3 for rax/stable, 4 for other (fort, artillery, etc), 5-9 for units. For hotkeys i just use the default ones and i always use them to build buildings and units. Thats what works for me.

Re: Initiatives to attract and keep new players
Ok, first off, I want to say that even though I am Nilla, it is only because I am new and haven't gotten a chance to get TAD yet, so don't criticize me for that. I agree with both sides of the argument. Should there be Nilla strategy guides and threads for people adamant about only playing Nilla? Ye...

Re: Initiatives to attract and keep new players
This is true. A large chunk of players are on Vanilla. The only way to get them to join TAD is to play some Nilla and befriend them. The attitude of disgust and dismissing them only damages the community. I completely agree. If people want the community to grow, they need to embrace all players of ...

Re: Initiatives to attract and keep new players
You can say what you want but the fact is that if people wanted to upgrade to TAD they would've done it by now. Just saying that everyone should switch to TAD doesn't change the fact that half the community still plays Nilla.

Re: Initiatives to attract and keep new players
Also, I only own nilla, and there are a lot of others like me. Whenever I go on to ESo (generally on weekends) there are easily between 1200-2000 people. That is a huge community that basically has no representation in forums like this one. I think we need more nilla players and possibly even a foru...

Re: Initiatives to attract and keep new players
I think this site definitely needs more noobs and newcomers. I am definitely a noob (I heard about the site on inters channel btw) and I feel kind of out of place with all the veterans here. There needs to be an active thread where noobs can get simple advice from experts so newcomers aren't instant...

Re: why french so popular now?
If you want an honest answer though, read goodspeed's guide (http://aoeiii.wix.com/aoex#!resources/cw8g) and read the timings section. The French are capable of performing pretty much any strat, and though they may not be the best at any one strat they can easily adapt to counter anything their opponent throws at them.

Re: Walls
I honestly wouldn't mind making wall segments cost like 25 wood each, and poles 5 wood. I mean look at how many walls you get for 100 wood. Is there a reason NOT to build random walls everywhere? in midgame I do not think so. The only reason people don't use them is because it's time consuming to b...

Re: Walls
If you make the build time for walls longer and add a build limit, it would make players have to plan when and where to build walls, instead of just building them as a reaction to a raid. It would also make booms more vulnerable, and force players to actually make an army.

Re: Initiatives to attract and keep new players
Small side note on the twitch vs YouTube live debate: Pardon my ignorance as I have zero experience casting, but wouldn't the best of both worlds be to have both YouTube Live *and* Twitch? Maximum exposure. If this isn't possible, I understand. If it is, however, I don't see why there should be a d...

nusha, I understand what you are going through. I am a total noob too. I started playing ESO on nilla just about a month ago. I have only played a few games (10-20ish) but I'll tell you what I've done. First of all, play against other noobs in both 1v1 and team. You wil have fairly even matches whic...
