Re: duolckrad vs. Cry_Baby
That would be very difficult for me. The latest I could start Saturday would be around 06:00 GMT, but I could do pretty much any time before that. Same with Sunday.

Re: duolckrad vs. Cry_Baby
Well hi. I can do next Saturday or Sunday 17 GMT onward. I probably can't do the weekend after that. I can do most weekdays after around 18:30 GMT with 24 hours notice.

Re: Decade in Review
It's not about math, it's about people. People see it as a new millenium, and thus it is But then one of the previous millennia is only 999 years which is a contradiction. For colloquial use, the 2nd millenium was 1000-1999 and the third is 2000-2999, and so the first would be 1-999 which is shorte...

Re: Announcing the ESOC Stay-at-Home Cup!
I'd actually prefer this to choosing the maps myself tbh nglCometk wrote:
If you fail to send your civs by that time, the admin team will have fun choosing your maps for you, and you won't get the chance to change them once the brackets are released.

Re: #SLM
Actually I reread the admin decision viewtopic.php?f=867&t=20103#p451016 and the length of the ban will be re-evaluated if he returns to the community so maybe there is a possibility of parole ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Re: #SLM
He's not really locked up. His account was deactivated per request for the reasons described by Eagle. He was allowed to participate in the EC2 in consultation with Incog. Unfortunately, he was knocked out early in the tournament. Somppu can return to the forums whenever he wishes, but his tourname...

Re: Announcing the ESOC Stay-at-Home Cup!
Don't wanna be a cunt, but when was the last time we had a normal tourney? Like, just normal civ rules and a decent map pool. I get you want to mix in some funky rules for variety, but precisely for variety it would be nice to have a competitive tourney once in a while. Winter 2020 was a pretty rec...

Re: US riots
Also, it’s not like I’m smurfing you with a doctoral dissertation on the Hong Kong protests or anything. You made an extremely strong claim that doesn’t hold up to five minutes’ worth of research. It’s clear that you adopted the position that was in line with what you believed rather than allowing t...

Re: US riots
No, we are/were only discussion about whether protests in US should be suppressed or not. Note : By protest I mean both peaceful and violent. The rest where just justifications or examples of similar events across world and how they are/were handled. Matter of precedence or validity you can say. ??...

Re: Minneapolis riots
Despite telling you not to, you are constantly engaging in nitpicking and bad faith arguments. This is turning out to be a ping pong discussion rather than productive one. For sake of this discussion and my sanity I will in precise point form explain my thoughts below. I expect you to not continue ...

Re: Minneapolis riots
If you read carefully I responded to all 3 of them. What you make is a good point and what I hope happens. That is a different thing though. So, you are just reiterating what I said, protesters have no clue exactly what they want, neither they have made any attempt to establish dialogue and/or kick...

Re: Minneapolis riots
1) If acquiescing to demands stops protests surely it will stop riots. I don't deny that. But, what exactly are the demands? How do you even implement those changes (instantly). The issue at hand is an educational issue and the issue of mindset. It is process which will take long time to achieve. W...

Re: Minneapolis riots
Riots are currently subsection of protests. Peaceful protests are used as cover for the acts by opportunistic individuals and/or groups with some motive or whatever reasons. (lets not go into those details right now) Quelling the protests will stop the riots as well, as they lose their cover they a...

Re: Minneapolis riots
Well for one there is no generalized approach, in this case however yes. Police resources are spread too thin. As evident by past couple days police only arrive at business after its looted. It is practically impossible for them to defend public property unless: 1) Protests are in a limited area. 2...

Re: Minneapolis riots
1) You can have peaceful protests. But at this point they have devolved into (). It is hard to distinguish who is a peaceful protester and who is not. As a consequence of protests turning violent and practical inability to distinguish one from another in it is necessary to shut down until such time...
