Re: ESOC and Racism
It's very distressing to see how willing both staff and community members have been to ignore and minimize what is easily the most despicable behavior I've seen in the five years I've been on the forum. How is it that people who troll the forums or quit a tournament get banned for months (if not per...

Re: Elifant in the room: the role and future of ESOC Patch on DE
with the game receiving official support, hopefully there won’t be a need for a fan patch to do the balancing for the game. What I can foresee, however, is the infrastructure of the EP team (read: the high level players) continuing to have focused balance discussions and perhaps creating iterative ...

Re: What tournament do you want to see first in DE?
I think a "weekend showcase" or something along those lines would be cool. It's probably best to hold off on hosting a major tournament with a large prize pool in case one or both of the new civs are broken.

I predict that Inca will be the best while Sweden is the worst or vice versa. That seems to typically be how these things work.

Re: Elifant in the room: the role and future of ESOC Patch on DE
A lot will depend on the changes that are made in the official patch, but I'd be surprised if even half of the changes made on EP are carried over. I think there will likely be room for an EP, though it might mean starting from scratch (not sure how the ESOC Dev Team would feel about that). This of ...

Re: Aoe3 DE Gameplay Interview
All this because the devs decided to change how two civs gather gold in a 15 year old video game? Sheesh. Personally, I think the change (unless it's purely aesthetic as some have claimed) is unnecessary and may negatively impact game balance. But I'm going to withhold judgement until I see how it w...

Re: Fresh Start
I disagree with allowing cheaters back. Banning them is as much about justice as it is about preventing cheating in ESOC events. You might be able to make a case for allowing back players who did some minor cheating a few years back and have since cleaned up their act, but people who did more seriou...

Re: Fresh Start
I respect and mainly agree with the job esoc has done with banning players when their forced to. They did a great job in this area. With DE approaching very quickly this topic is being brought back up, which makes sense. Cheating in aoe3 a "dead" game with no real support from devs is one...

Re: Insanely online numbers
I just checked again and it says 1898. How can they go from over 4k to under 2k in a matter of minutes? I think the servers kicked out a lot of people cause I'm online but can't access my Homecities right now :export: edit: Okay, now I can access Homecities again, let's see how many people log back...

Obviously, but it's impressive that 4200 people would log onto ESO in 2020 for any reason.

Walling resources?
It's probably less viable since the wall nerf but is it ever worth it to wall distant resources? It would require a small wood investment but it could potentially insulate you from annoying mid-game 5 civ raids.

Re: Petition to add other reactions other than "like"
I don't like a dislike button. It fosters negativity. Wow, this is a bit ironic. Preventing people from expressing their discontent with a dislike button is not going to prevent negativity. If anything, it makes folks more likely to write a nasty response instead of just clicking a button and movin...

Re: Age III: DE Beta sessions starting in early February
Why is everyone hating on a game we haven't seen a screenshot of, let alone played? Anyway, it's almost certain there will be some new content, whether it be maps, campaigns, etc. New civs aren't out of the question either, especially since there are some like the U.S. that are partially constructed...

Re: Spahis deserve better
So this patch, otto got buffed mosque upgrades. They can get nat posts on no tp maps for xp. They can build tps even in the opponents tc radius. Spahis are buffed. But ogm, abus have -1 range!!! How unfair, really need to buff otto more Very nice but IDK how can you not understand this that their l...

Re: Spahis deserve better
one-shot unit What is one shot unit? what's more, the civ you want to add it to already has a very strong age 3 and age4 :uglylol: By one-shot, I mean a one time power spike that can't be repeated. If you think Otto has a weak age 3 and age 4, I don't know what to tell you other than you're wrong.

Re: Spahis deserve better
I think making spahi trainable in stable is the way to go. Their auto heal and upgrade should be removed. I think we can tweak it a bit. 175f 175c, 4pop, 36 att, 800 hp Spahi are designed to be a powerful, one-shot unit and that's what they were balanced around. Trying to make them anything else is...

Re: How should Otto be buffed?
Why not revert the abus ROF nerf but increase the negative multiplier against cav to make them do .25 of their base damage instead of .5? That would put their damage output more on par with skirmishers, while allowing them to retain a marginal advantage that would reflect their higher cost and pop s...

That's what I meant, my wording wasn't the best.edeholland wrote:There is a paywall because you will need to pay before you can play the game. It won't have microtransactions.

I don't really care about the time period tbh. I'll make my decision based on the quality of the gameplay and whether there's a paywall.
