Re: Spanish Discussion Thread
u547 could we change the 9rod shipment to 10rod because an age3 shipment should be 1k res worth like 5huss or 5lancers, why do have the rod shipment a worthiness of 900res? In my opinion, it makes more sense to buff the civilization generally, instead of focusing on early-Fortres...

Also can we give infinit something shipement? (i hope but ... :P ). I'd love "INFINITE 8 Rodeleros". Unfortunately, one of many things I learned during the development of EP7 is that currently good AoE3 players live in a state of terror towards infinite shipments, which is interesting, co...

Re: Spanish Discussion Thread
Among a number of things, I'm considering whether to keep Caballeros at +2 range (or replace that effect with -10% cost). If anyone I havent managed to ask has any opinion on it, I'm all eyes. Specifically, I'm concerned with the scaling of the unit being too strong. Thanks! We could try it with -1...

Re: Behavioral Economics and AoE3
I have a good point to make but I am on my phone and cba to type it all out. If I get home and reread this post I will elaborate on why balance is totally possible even with 14 civs That is entirely dependent on your definition of balance. You could achieve significantly better inter-civilization b...

One specific thing I'd thought of for sioux would be an age IV farm card something like "3 Sisters" (a farming technique developed and widely used by the Sioux people) for like 30-40% to farms. It wouldn't be super relevant most games but would at least give them a lategame way to get som...

Re: Behavioral Economics and AoE3
1) Loss Aversion Loss aversion states a person dislikes losing $5 more than they like winning $5. 2) Risk taking Below a certain reference point (taken as one's current wealth) one tends to be risk-loving, while above it be risk-adverse. Does this apply to AoE3? Would you rather not lose 5 PR than,...

They are indeed. It's a good thing that it'll remain at least 1/3 worse, then.Garja wrote:Caba isn't great btw.
On the other hand trickles (resources or xp) are inherently superior to discrete bounties so it might very well be the case that the native xp trickle is too good.

The xp trickle is insane. I have play a couple of games on EP8 and the xp trickl buff + spain xp buff mean i can do my semi ff 700w/5vili/700gold/600w and reach age 3 in less than 9 min with a shipement ready, like, no difference with my bo on tp map. Also your bo with 300w look viable if you can t...

Re: Potential Sioux Update
I actually liked that. Teepees feeling more like a core feature of the civ doesn't seem like bad design in itself at all, that actually feels like what they always should've been. You don't see players complain that building houses every game is a no-brainer with other civilizations. Teepees can be...

Re: Potential EP Sioux Update
Oof not gonna lie those are ugly changes Great Hunter increasing bison shipment power is ugly to you? Yikes! I don't mind simply tuning it to 30%, which I also suggested to Mitoe. Other than that, in terms of effect, it's the best option that I've seen. I strongly dislike any change that would make...

Re: Potential EP Sioux Update
I want to ask Eaglemut whether it were technically possible to implement the following, so I might as well do it here:
– "Great Hunter" now increases deliveries of bison shipments by X% or X units"
– Teepees now lose 5hp per second, self-destructing when reaching 0hp

Re: Potential EP Sioux Update
Yeah please let's stop wasting time and energy and focus on actual stuff. So how about reverting the weird 30% rr on warchief It's only happening if we replace it and the heavy cavalry tag with snare removal, which seems undesirable. Players were pretty clear about 10% resistance and the heavy cava...

Re: Potential EP Sioux Update
I don't mind revamping Sioux. I've always found the default gather-rate aura problematic in its previous implementations, which I have remarked on in the past. In fact, I am planning on polling it after the current tweak planned for the next update, once inter-civilization balance is even better, an...

Ye sure let's change other stuff cause the stuff you changed already is bad. What about you simply don't change mahouts? I could take or leave a Sowar buff. It just seems to address the valid concern of Hazza's, without significant drawbacks in the current state of balance. I respect player opinion...

Re: Less Limited Post-Winter Balance Adjustments (EP8)
if we buffed every indian unit that was weak, theyd be more retarded than they were during the memefire craze. already doing it with rajput, sowars and mahouts next. Depending on the buff, indeed so. Has the Rajput buff made Indians "more retarded" on EP7(.1)? I've barely seen the unit be...

Re: Russians Discussion Thread
I did a quick check and the training time of the batch is in fact 53 seconds, not 50, which makes new testing necessary. Reducing the training time to 45s means decreasing the training time by 8 seconds which sounds like a lot, and probably is a bit too much. So i’ll do some maths with 48 seconds. ...

Re: Less Limited Post-Winter Balance Adjustments (EP8)
I am not against the trickle of native XP, but I do not like too much the change of technology or limit of natives tbh, natives must not change imo Are you aware of the fact that Incan build limits are over 60% greater than those of any other minor native tribe? The reason that I am suggesting this...

Re: Less Limited Post-Winter Balance Adjustments (EP8)
As I've noted, all along, it is the case that the Mahout Lancer change would make the unit worse against non-heavy infantry. As Goodspeed points out – and to Hazza's point – I think that it makes sense, then, to improve the Sowar, which is generally considered the inferior option (currently, when th...
