Very low fps

Hi there,

I just installed the ESOC patch, but I have extremely low FPS (10-20 FPS) in the main menu and ingame. In RE patch I dont have this problem and I have a solid 50-60 FPS there.

OS is Windows 7 64 bit
Patch version is 2.0.0.3

Hope someone can help out, cause the balance in the patch really appeals to me. Thanks in advance

I can't even open the Esoc Patch with FPS included, otherwise the game shuts by itself xD

maybe the options you have activated? perhaps you have vsync on in the fan patch

the primary reason why the EP lags is because it is a different exe and if you're on a laptop is almost certain that the PC will try to run it with the CPU by default instead of using the GPU.

Yes I am indeed on a laptop Garja.. I guess that's where the problem lies unfortunately ;(

On my laptop I can right click on something and select "run with graphics card" or something like that. I'd imagine there is usually a similar option.

What laptop model is it?

ye i found the option and applied it, but it still runs at at max of 20 FPS sadly whereas RE patch still runs fine.. :(

Not really sure what the cause could be then. You have the same settings applied in both? If I recall correctly both patches will maintain a distinct set of graphics settings.

maybe it's some kind of strange sub-setting which you find by right clicking the .exe file and looking at the options there

Temporary Solution: if nothing helps and you still need to play, lower your resolution

Im on a laptop, with no dedicated gpu tho (just hd 520), and I get 60-80 fps on low settings 1440p regardless of which patch I am on. What are your laptop specs?

make sure its the GPU that is used for Ep and not the cpu i had this problem on my old computer

Yea even if it is just your cpu running the game you still should be getting higher fps.. I play on a laptop with no gpu and get 60 fps if im not streaming

My specs are Intel Core i5-4210U 2.7 GHz 8GB RAM and an NVIDIA Ge-Force GT840M, i guess with everything on low i should be able to run it..

And ye Tibia i tried running it with my GPU, according to the settings it should be running on the GPU but i don't think it really does, still 20 fps.

Also ye musketeer925, my settings are the same in RE and EP, only difference is that in RE the bit depth is set to 32, whereas on EP the bitdepth setting shows a blank field.

Can you take a screenshot of that? sounds very odd...

after a reinstall it shows the correct settings, but still 20 fps or lower, i guess NVIDIA hates EP (it says it runs on GPU but i dont believe it actually does)

alright so i did that thing to the launcher, not to the actual EXE, which I found out to be age3f.exe, how stupid am I -_- sorry for the troubles lol it works now

I have the same situation, but it seems it's not causing any issues...

Be sure it's the exe that is ran by the GPU and not just the launcher.

On a related note, I run the game at 16 bit depth and I notice no difference whatsoever but way better performance.
