Error 5: can't instal Esoc Patch

Hi all,

Is there anyone who can tell me how to properly install the esoc patch? See picture at added files.
I already tried some things i read on the forum, but nothing is working.

It looks like it is unable to write the files for some reason.

Try the following:

1) make sure you are running the installer as administrator.
2) Make sure no programs are running that may be using file locations that it is trying to write to -- ensure AoE3 and Steam are both closed. I would recommend rebooting your PC immediately before attempting to install.
3) You may need to try deleting the files that it is failing to write, if they exist -- perhaps it is having trouble overwriting leftover files from multiple installation attempts.

I had this problem before I believe. Make sure that you have full permissions in the folder in which aoe is located.

1) Im running as administrator, so that is not the problem.
2) I did remove AoE3 complete collection from my computer and reinstalled on steam but when i did that i had some missing file privileges (see added picture). I already send steam a mail to though..
3)After that i tried deleting the files, but i couldn't delete it. Its said to me i need a authorization. But i don't understand that cuzz i'm the administrator, i double checked it... I do hope after a correct reinstallation of AoE3 complete collection i can install the esoc patch without any problem.

No. Just check in the file explorer to see if you have full permissions for read, write, and install.

If you can't manually create or delete a file where the installer is trying to put something, you have some kind of permissions issue you need to resolve that's causing the problem.

Your internetpage is very helpful, but stil it does not work! Everything i try gets to nowhere.. I think i'm gonna get some help from someone who is specialized for this kind of stuff..

Thanks guys. My brother in law helped me and he did get it done. There was a sort of virus that was blocking severel maps on my pc. So i wasn't able to delete or change things, even if i was administrator. So that is helped now..
The next thing i did was download the Esoc patch and it worked fine. Now my strugle is finding a way to play de esoc maps on my regular AoE3 (cuz no one i know is playing on Esoc patch).
So i did already copy the maps from RMF to RM3 but the maps doesn't dissapear in my list on AoE3.
Maybe you guys know a way? Or why i can't see them in my list on AoE3?
