Event Information thread
Re: Event Information thread
IMO the rule should be this:
"– At the beginning of a Stronk2World match, both teams must veto one map each from the map pool. These two maps are then removed from the map-pool for the match. The challenging team exercises its veto first."
"– At the beginning of a Stronk2World match, both teams must veto one map each from the map pool. These two maps are then removed from the map-pool for the match. The challenging team exercises its veto first."
Re: Event Information thread
Well, doesn't that take away the meaning of a veto? Vetoing one map out of 15 isn't really useful, is it?
Re: Event Information thread
First of all, yes it is. Second of all:
"- Allow for 1 map veto per match, ..." – lespaul, 2016
An alternative is two vetos per match and team, exercised at the beginning of a match. New suggestion:
"– At the beginning of a Stronk2World match, both teams must veto two maps each from the map pool, taking turns. These four maps are then removed from the map-pool for the match. The challenging team vetos a map first."
game = map
series = match

It still is. And I kinda feel that veto-ing before the match started (and ppl choose their map) is most fair also, could do 2 vetos ye? And maybe 15 maps in the competitive pool is too much anyway?

Re: Event Information thread
15 maps is fine with 2 vetos per team.
Re: Event Information thread
Hmm, I was just planning out a challenge and I think a noticed a little issue in the rules. Consider a 1v1 BO5 challenge, for which three players are said to be required.
1st game - my clanmate loses and is out, score 0-1
2nd game - I lose and am out, score 0-2
3rd game - my other mate wins, score 1-2
4th game - my other mate wins again, is therefore out and brings the score to 2-2
5th game - oops, per rules all three of our players are out (and quite possibly all three of our opponent's as well), but the score is still 2-2
I don't think this is too unrealistic to happen and there are several teams with just three players total. I guess in this special case, me or my first mate who lost should be allowed to play a second game and finish the series?

Re: Event Information thread
if your mate is the last guy standing he's allowed to stay to the end ^^
This is to encourage teams to send their best player last. You want your ace to reverse all-kill the other team. x)
In chronological order:
- The first map will be decided on during scheduling, chosen from the map pool. The clan with the lower amount of points (or the challenged clan, in case of a tie) chooses the first map.
- Each clan sends out a player for the first map. The loser is eliminated from the match.
- The winner-clan selects their next player.
- The loser-clan picks the next map and sends out their next player. *
- The winner-clan then picks their civilization first.
- A player may play at most 2 games per match, unless that player is the last man standing.
- Civilizations may only be played once for each CLAN. **
- Maps may only be played once.
- All games must be recorded and posted for the results to count.
- In the 1v1 format, matches may be played out over the course of several days in the case of difficulties scheduling for all 6 players.

The complete QS map pool+ESOC maps
Silk Road for example is one of the best if not the best Japan map there is. Big maps, spread out hunts, no TP line etc.
Araucania/Yellow River allows some kind of ATP builds, Standard GP denies TP builds, Deccan is good for some prepared BO's etc.
I understand that some maps might give an clear advantage but that's why we have a counterpick-rule.
sorry for being lazy btw
