Map Issues Report

Hello everyone, I'm making this topic in order to clean a bit the previous "map issues" topic. In order to keep this topic in the right way, we are going to only accept posts which are showing an issue using the following template in the current map set.

Here is the current template for reporting an issue :

That happens in 1v1 as well. Estimated frequency<10%. Also, mine spawns are inconsistent, at least in team spawns.

50%? ROFL

Spawn it 10 times, I'm sure that 5 spawns will be unfair because one player will miss one hunt. I wouldn't complain if it was 10% xD.

This is as bad as it can get and doesnt happen 50% of times lol. Also new Arkanas will be much more consistent.

Lol you didn't even circle the first hunt of the top player. And in any case you're not supposed to have same amount of hunts on that map, let alone subjectively picking the ones that you think are close enough to consider.
In any case Klondike is one of the maps to rework.

Dunno what those circles are. To me that spawns seems fine, considering each player has 3 hunts (including the 2nd one) in its half. Berries are food as well you know.

That tibet spawn is good. The middle hunts are slightly moved toward the bottom player which is something that can happen and they could move in the opposite direction during age1. Most of times they start placed evenly anyway.

And the argument «scout your hunts to be able to resign before 2min» is totally irrelevant, on kamchatka you have to rush the middle of the map to get the goats and the 80f/90w treasure and on Arkansas you want to get the treasures.

Well don't play then and we're all happy.
You're only supposed to rush fortreasures because you know you have exactly fixed resources, which is the case for Kamchatka but not Arkansas. And actually it is arguable that the Arkansas setup is better.

Anyway:

Both players have hunts on sides and other 2 are in the middle. Bottom player has slightly forward hunts but better placed berries. Mines are even.

There are 5 inner hunts that are placed randomly. This means that they're not supposed to be symmetric but >90% of times one hunt ends up in the middle and >80% of times each player get a clear 2nd hunt to herd.
External hunts are again placed randomly but they avoid the inner hunts which means they tend to fill the gaps.
Same logic goes with the inner and outer mines.

Detailed description of the issue : The second hunt is often slightly out of TC range, especially if it's drifting away
Occurence frequency : very often

I understand that CR is a low resource map, and I'm fine with that. It does make too much difference if you can't reliably get your hunt under your TC. You can't influence or predict the drifting behaviour, which means that a hunt right on the edge of herdable will very often bug out because you get it into TC range. I think it could be a good improvement if the second hunt was slightly more reliable. It doesn't even have to be great, just remove the possibility of a mapscrew. It's especially bad right now because one player can have it out of range while the other has it inside range due to drifting (I dont know how it's coded precisely in terms of spawn distance). I definitely think it'd not kill the spirit of the map if you can get your second hunt in 100% of the time, since it'd still be very low resource.

hello, I have found quite a delicate map issue to report.

Context : KotH games
Detailed description of the issue : The hill/fort objective does not spawn at all, literally unplayable
Occurence frequency : 100%

Name of the map : Adirondack
Context : 1v1
Detailed description of the issue : Sometimes one player only has 1 hunt while the other has 2, this means that for example, you run out of food as dutch when you reach the 3rd age which means that all your MUs are totally hopeless.
Occurence frequency : Not too often but when you miss one hunt it's game so that's still a big issue.

Not sticking to the format above because im lazy but I think colorado needs one more hunt on each side of the map, was hunting on my opponents side of the map at 9mins. I just think the map has potential but I seem to get hunt screwed every time
More of an issue in team.

AFAIK all ESOC maps made by Garja have been fixed where applicable.

Yes Florida starts with a market. Two tps for each player only due to their proximity to the TC.

Not a fan of Market starts ever (because they force player into Market improvements over TPs, as well as favor European and Native American civlizations in general), but I like the map a lot otherwise.
