The purpose of this thread is to list the up-to-date details on EP map-sets, and gather feedback and suggestions for sets and maps alike. Please note that map-spawn balance issues ("map-screws") are not subject to this thread, and instead report them here.

Classic Maps:

Features the same maps as "Standard Maps" from the official version of the game – with the same weightings; the chance of a given map appearing in a given map-set is equal to its weighting divided by the sum of the map-set's weightings. A map weighted "2" is half as likely to appear as a map weighted "4."

I know you may not be the number one fan of Indonesia, but it's an official ESOC map and should be listed there!

I'm not sure it's in the actual map set, this post implies that it isn't.

With the weightings I'd imagine it being there with something like (2) or (1). It seems weird that there's no way playing on it unless you manually select it! Baja California, for instance, is perfectly fine, by the looks of things... :hmm:

I made a mistake when editing the post and Indonesia was left out. If we are able to at some point make a "Competitive Maps" set, hopefully we can include it in both Standard and ESOC with a weighting of "2".

I think bengal needs to be more heavily weighted. It is one of the best designed/consistent/fair maps in the pool, and offers a fairly unique play style. Also Arizona and Siberia should be more heavily weighted as well. Both of them are very well balanced and designed maps.

Colorado should be less weighted due to spawn problems and fairness, especially in team games.

In team games, there should be like three maps with a weight of 4 or 5(if that is possible. They should be: silk road, Adirondacks, and Arkansas, and maybe even Pampas Sierra. Those are just some of the most well balanced and loved maps in that pool.

Also, why does Tibet have the weighting of 3 in the ESOC maps set and 2 in the QS one? :hmm:

Colorado is currently the fairest map of all since all resources (gold and mine) spawn in a defined area and aren't random at all so. That's why the map is totally a mirror. I'm talking about 1v1 here because Colorado doesn't belong to "team maps" set anyway.

Mostly because ESOC set was mostly oriented to variety and semi-casual play while QS set was meant to be the competitive one, also considering the fact that you can't rehost in qs. All of this based on the assumption that Tibet isn't a competitive map (arguable).

Why would players not want Colorado in team-games?

The map almost always spawned badly with a mesa sometimes, and almost always with missing mines on one side of the map (apparently this is fixed, though). The design is also not the best for team because it is choked and tends to either favour hyper aggressive or very slow games. It is pretty similar to Baja with the cliffs and the TP's, but Colorado feels like half the size, and doesnt have fish for strong booms. Games on colorado tend to just be kinda boring for whatever reason.

If this is the case, than why is Deccan in Qs map set? Or even patagonia or Andes for that matter

Andes and patagonia are fixed version. Deccan is more controversia because of cratesl, but still resources are kinda fair on this map.

Classic maps on EP are fixed in terms of resources, right?

You have to download the latest UI 2.062 or something set.
I've been getting OOSs on the EP itself lately, too, interestingly enough... :hmm:

Hey, I've notuced that in some maps like adirondacks and florida many hunts walk back despite the efforts to herd them. Is that true?

No, it's just an impression. If anything, the more the hunts the harder is to control all of them strictly.

Can deccan be removed from the team map set? I play most of my team games on EP simply because they arent on deccan and it is really annoying when I get it. lol
