The infinite 600 wood looks more like a buff than a nerf to me

Manors already train pretty slowly tbh. Don't think they need to be built even slower. Maybe the xp bounty increase coumd be nice, but I don't think that's super relevant.
Infinite 600w would barely be a nerf... Basically brits would lose 100w, but they would free a slot in their deck in colonial, which means they could have all 4 musk huss upgrades there without sacrificing an important card. And it also means, of course, that they would never run out of shipments in colo. It's not like brits aren't a good late colo civ already, and it's not like 600w would be a bad shipment to spam.

I think we can find nerfs without changing structurally how a civ works. Just leave 700 and 600w as it is.
140w is one good option to just slow everything down one bit.

Yea keep it simple. 140w manor is a slight nerf, let's see how it does. I don't think we need to do anymore than that right now.

Slowing the manor build time by 5 seconds is basically the same as increasing its cost by 5 wood since 1 manor becomes 10 vill seconds more expensive both ways.

Manors do build super slow, no need to nerf more. In fact, it is not rare to interrupt manor construction while rushing and damaging Brit eco by doing that.
700w to me is untouchable. It is simply too much of a basic feature of the civ and of the game to change. On top of that its effect is questionable.
In general, Brits just need a little nerf. Their predominance is completely meta-based, as having free vills is quite a bonus on the EP. Brits are not OP in any regard, at best they have best eco for a good window of time and one of the best musks. Everything else is on par/slightly above par.
The easiest and most effective way to nerf Brits is just to increase manor cost, which was arbitrarily set at 135w. Evidently the originial extra cost doesn't reflect anymore the advantage of having a free vill. This is simply fixed by adjusting the extra cost to 40w or 45w.

Unfortunately manors are pretty much the only thing you can touch if you want to tweak brits.

Lbows can also be tweaked slightly. -1 attack and buff multiplier vs HI to x1.5. Yomen card +2 range and 10% HP. Guard upgrade from default.

I'd try 140w manors. Brit eco is insane and can jump faster than anyone's without ever investing a card into it, except maybe Dutch, but banks turn out to cost more VS/equivalent villager than Brit manors.
I believe the statement "at best they have best eco for a good window of time" kind of an understatement, as that's a very good thing to have indeed, and the way they go about it is quite easy, flexible, and non comittal. Manors are maybe just a little too good.

I've really been struggling with Brit because nerfing manors goes against our philosophy of not changing civ bonuses and I think the balance in strength between boom builds and non-boom builds is currently okay for Brit. Nerfing manors is a clear nerf to boom builds, which feels wrong because it is already a style we don't often see. But I just can't find anything better. As things stand, 140w manors will likely make it into the patch, but it hurts. It hurts, guys. Get creative!

Iirc most Brit games in the tournament were colonial games with early aggro from either both sides or only the Brit side, but I could be wrong.

I think we should buff VC and continue to nerf HI so that brits actually stand a chance in todays rush meta.
