Tournament Rules - Updated

Post by Cometk »

Tournament Rules

Remember, ignorance of the rules is not an excuse! Breaking any of the rules may warrant immediate disqualification. Read them thoroughly.

Civilization Restrictions

- In a Best-of-3, you must play 2 different civilizations, then you can play any civilization once more.
- There are no civilization restrictions prior to the Best-of-3 Semi-Finals and Finals.

Gameplay Rules

1.1 - Every player must respect the casters, organizers, and their opponents. Misbehavior will result in a warning and can lead to disqualification. Racism and/or insults will not be tolerated.

1.2 - This is a 2v2 tournament. WHICH MEANS EACH TEAM MUST CONSIST OF TWO PLAYERS :).

1.3 - A team's combined Treaty Team ELO can not exceed ~4600.

1.4 - Every game must be played on ESO (Ensemble Studios Online).

1.5 - Every game must be played with the "Treaty - No Blockade" setting.

1.6 - Every game must be played on the latest update of the Treaty Patch (viewtopic.php?f=176&t=7148)

1.7 - Every game must be played on the maps approved by the TTB Staff.

1.8 - Every game must be recorded. Submit recorded games to the "Recorded Games" forum.

1.9 - A screenshot must be taken at the 40 minute mark and submitted with your recorded game.

1.10 - If necessary, each team is allowed one restart per game BEFORE the 2 minute mark. Restarts for casted games will be determined by the caster him/herself. The caster is allowed to restart a game as many times as necessary for optimal play.

1.11 - Ships and docks are NOT allowed.

1.12 - Game modifications are NOT allowed. The exceptions to this rule are the Ekanta UI mod and Building Rotator mod.

1.13 - Every game must be conducted within half map. This means that before the treaty timer has expired, you may not collect resources or construct buildings past your half of the map. Military units must be on your side of the map when the timer expires. In the case of disputes, half map boundaries will be arbitrated by the caster(s) in live games and TTB Staff in recorded games. Treasure-collecting and scouting are allowed as normal.

1.14 - Should both teams agree, use of map-created Natives Warriors may be disallowed. This clause does NOT refer to the use of Infinite Native shipments from the Home City.

1.15 - "Team trade", or slinging resources to a teammate to boost the effects of Fur Trade, South Sea Bubble, or Sublime Porte, is forbidden. Slinging resources after these shipments have been sent is allowed as normal.

Disqualification Rules

2.1 - All external exploits are forbidden. All game modification software besides the Ekanta UI mod and Building Rotator mod are forbidden. The TTB Staff reserves the right to disqualify a player for use of any exploits to gain an unfair advantage.

2.2 - Exploits include but are not limited to: Map Hacks, Trainers, Explorer Revival Glitch, Out of Sync / Intentional Lag (Stacked downloads or other game crashing exploits), and mods (zoom modification).

2.3 - If you suspect your opponent has violated any of the player integrity rules, finish the game and submit it for review with an explanation of why you think the game was unfair. If the tournament staff members find someone to be guilty of cheating, the cheater will be disqualified from the tournament.

2.4 - When a player disconnects from a game BEFORE the 10 minute mark, the players can (when all agree) restart and replay the game. When the opposing team does not agree to restart, the outcome of the game will be determined by the tournament staff.

2.5 - When a player disconnects from a game AFTER the 10 minute mark, the players can (when all agree) restart and replay the game. When the opposing does not agree to restart, the team of the disconnecting player will be given a loss.

2.6 - When a player disconnects from a game AFTER the 10 minute mark, teams are NOT allowed to continue the game as a 1v1. The game MUST be rehosted or the team of the disconnecting player given a loss.

2.7 - When a player disconnects from a game AFTER the 40 minute mark, his teammate is allowed to continue playing 1v2.

Scheduling Rules

3.1 - TTB Staff will make scheduling threads for matches.

3.2 - Players must respond simply with the times they are available to play. An admin will then select a time for the players to play. Players must then confirm their agreement.

3.3 - Posts in scheduling topics will be considered along with interaction with the TTB Staff when making decisions regarding scheduling. Other communications will not be considered.

3.4 - The TTB Staff reserves the right to extend the deadline of a match if deemed appropriate.

Casting Rules

4.1 - Players are allowed to stream their tournament matches

4.2 - All streamed matches must have a time delay of AT LEAST 2 minutes.

4.3 - All tournament-streamed matches must be recorded.

4.4 - No additional observers may be present in a game.

4.5 - Due to OBS maps not being ready on time, games this tournament will not be casted live.

Seeding

5.1 - The registered account name must be the main account of its owner for proper seeding.

5.2 - Teams will be seeded by their combined Treaty Team ELO.

5.3 - This seeding will be done automatically after signups close.

Map Pool and Map Rules

The map pool for the Treaty Team Brawl will be:

ESOC Andes
ESOC Orinoco
ESOC Snowy Great Plains

Maps are now available in Treaty Patch (viewtopic.php?f=176&t=7148)

6.1 - All games will be played on a veto system. The team with the higher current Treaty ELO will be granted veto advantage and the ability to ban one map and one civilization from the set. The other team will then select the map from the two remaining and ban one more civilization.

6.2 - For example, Team 1 (4500 ELO) has the veto advantage and bans New Orinoco and Japan. Team 2 (4200 ELO) bans New Great Plains and France, so the map played will be New Andes. France and Japan would not be playable by either team.

6.3 - Finals and Semi-Finals games will be played in this map order: New Great Plains, New Andes, New Orinoco.

Prize Pool

7.1 - Winning team takes all - $200 USD

As far as i know, the treaty patch was ment to remove the TEAM bonus feature from all "usefull" TEAM cards. But there are still some cards with this TEAM bonus feature who could be usefull in some situations. A few of them are:
TEAM Archaic Soldier Training - Spain
TEAM Explorer Combat - Spain
TEAM 2 Warrior Priests - Aztec
TEAM Improved Walls - Portugal
etc

Are these cards allowed to be used in the tournament?
Are the TEAM feature going to be removed from these cards in future patch updates?

There will be Treaty Patch update before the tournament starts. The team effects from these cards will be removed.
