Cavalry Archers

Hi all,

I had a NR50 yesterday and my opponent was a French. I know French are one of the better classes and i had no business fighting them with Ottoman but how is it possible his Gendarme just destroyed my Calvary Archers? Don't they have a 30% melee resist? Would they destroy Russian C. Archer's too since I think they have higher HP and Att than Ottoman one? I think I need to start playing Germans against French Noobs.

Gendarmes>"everything". Cav archers are one of their better counters, but gendarmes are just so efficient compared to cav archers cost and population wise, that it doesn't seem to matter.

I made instant Calvary Archers to protect my Abus Guns from his Gendarmes. For being so bulky and slow, I feel they get into position easier than Hussar's and Lancers.

Well two options for countering RE gends. First one is where u go hussar Jan or hussar CA (hussars block the gends while jans or CA kill them. Gends will rape anything they get into melee with so u need something to block). You have to be much faster and better than your opponent for this to work. Second option is where you just spam walls and towers and camp ultra hard with abus Jan or abus ca. This is probably better. If you lose make sure to ask your opponent how he's going to sleep at night knowing he just played France against Otto in treaty, or flame him in a similar way. The best option against RE France is to just mirror them tbh. Germany gets owned too.

Doppes are a better option at least. I really dont know why I faced him. I should've known better lol. How about Portugese? I think I should just master Brits. They seem to be well rounded with having Musks with 400+ hp and high attack, plus strong Strong Hussar and Dragoons.

- lag switch (idk if it go under lag hack)
- play nr40 (with blockade enabled) research it in imperial and disable furtrade (not recommended strat, might backfire)

And yes you need to block like hus in front and can with Jan's in back works pretty well but also what dick said you need to be better and faster then your opponent

If you don't play tad cuirs are much less worrysome cause more expensive and train slower. And without furtrade and all French are good still but not sure if they are top civ.

That didn't work. His Skimishers just shred me apart and everytime I made Abus, Falcon and Cavalry Archers (to defend Art), his Gende would just destroy everything. Russian C. Archer are so good tho! They have like 650HP and I noticed they held their own against German Drops.
