Aztec Units

I just started to play Aztecs but I am having a hard time matching Counter units for the other teams, I read the unit description and the stats but still I play against other aztecs and they kick my skirms ass with a unit that is suppose to be good against cav. please help <3

hi
macehualtin are skirmishers
coyote runners are hussars
puma spearman are pikeman
jaguar prowlers are a unique melee unit that does bonus damage against both cavalry and heavy infantry
eagle runners are dragoons
arrow knights are culverins
skull knights are doppelsoldners and upgrade automatically when you age up

Now I am assuming you shouldnt really play aztecs with hardly any wood after the treaty like deccan or or? unless you do trade yea?

That's correct at first but very broad since they seem like equivalents but most are more specific.
@
LoudDonkey Bach is generally correct, but be aware that:
- Coyote Runners will lose vs actual Hus
- Mace aren't actually as good as skirms vs actual skirms, they only act like Skirmishers vs Heavy Infantry and possibly Goons, but I don't know the multipliers right now

Maces do fine against other ranged inf, actually I think they beat skirms cost efficiently, though they might still lose in treaty because they're less pop efficient. The problem is they can get hit and run by skirms.
Coyotes get countered by heavy inf and goons, but not as hard as cav does. But at the same time they lose to hand cav and don't do that great against ranged inf either.
Eagle runner knights just have insane stats, they kind of kill everything except strong skirms/musks.

Now in terms of fire dance I should only go back and forth for pop and attack right

Pop dance is available to iro only. As azzy I guess you just stay on war dance, and sometimes switch to either war chief dance or healing dance, to revive the warchief

Azzy really seems to struggle against massed skirms, is there any way around this? I mean mace do ok in a straight up fight with no kiting but without that you lose half your mace before you get in range.

for supremacy
not really, try to have more troops and surround them (with coyote on skirm - sometimes it's hard because the have relatively low hp)
try to wait for a timing push if possible, skirms will just kite you if you don't have enough mass
treaty
it's rly no fun to play against a skirm mass, try fertility dance for faster unit production, and switch it with the attack dance. you probably will have a negative k/d ratio against skirms no matter what you do

azzy really does struggle against a mass of skirms, especially if the pathing is blocked through smartly placed buildings or walls

Thats why you have the war chief with cover mode bug, 71 dmg with 2 splash and revive him with healing dance again and again.
