Rods are faster than crossbows and pikes, and don''t require a card.

i think i just realised a source of great confusion. I do not mean the use of the archeic infantry card but the use of the units themselves. to further clarify should they be included as a unit used often in a Spanish treaty army.

Musketeers are better units to train. The last thing needed is for a wood costing unit to use pop while I wait for it to train that inevitably gets shot dead by skirmishers.

Instant imperial pikes are used as distraction. Coupled with cheap barracks card, its meant for trolling, as you can make so many barracks..

The card is also good if you have a russia, japan, china, or brit team mate as it makes their inf spawn faster

But why, using them tactically seems to work
Tactically the suck, musketeers fill more roles, as well as having a period bolt action rifle.

Their gun is neither bolt action nor a rifle

In treaty 40 rodeleros are mostly used in Spanish mirrors but in some other match ups too. If you can control them effectively, they are worth it.

they suck, it is not worthwhile. Even imperial tercios are useless. As the greatest have said before me there is nothing tercios do better than rods. can't remember but it doesnt seem like rods would be affected by this card. If that is the case then it is definitely not worthwhile EXCEPT that I think it is a team card, and in that case is helpful to archer allies like LB Yumi fags etc. But even then, it doesn't help your allies that much because it is not that great of a bonus to train speed. And in the end you just helped your allies waste more wood too. The only case I'd say is playing with a japanese teammate in a MU where he HAD to make lots of Yumi
