Any custom map can be made rated on the patch but scenarios (like colloseums) cannot be made rated cuz they were made in scenario editor.
hmmm.... so aren't all custom maps made in a scenario/map editor? could you make a map like I am talking about? having gaia forts that are capturable but not destroyable, so the objective is to take territory and hold it.... and also disable walls? or does it become a complete scenario at that point?

custom maps are made without any visual editors, only using notepad, so its much harder than creating a scenario cuz you cant visually see anything you are doing until you open the game and test your map. You surely can create scenario-like maps but it's gonna be pretty difficult.
thanks for the information. I didn't realize new maps were not being made in the editor that seems so alien to try to make a map in a note pad using code! I wish I could help but I know so little of programming

Nothing to add to what niceKing has said. Every scenario map can be made as a RMS (Random Map Script). You can place walls by creating some stuff in the scenario editor and directly using them in RMS, this is how for instance Native villages are coded or the cities in Bonnie Springs. But it's not elegant at all and should be avoid whenever it's possible.
I saw the "new great plains" map. it had a straight TP line about 1/3 of the map and lots of trees on the edges and a good open battle field in the center. Looks good. I think it would be cool to see a TP lin on the other side too so both team mates can have XP boom in a 2v2.
Iirc durokan made a video guide for making maps on ESOC channel on YT. Just wondering though, what programming language is used? Is it JS, Java, C, C++?

I just scimmed once through a map file, but it looked like c++ to me.
Yeah I noticed the same thing but to me they all sort of have the same syntax so it's hard for me to tell. I can adequately in c++ and JS which is why I was wondering
