You should try Knights and Merchants. Currently in a peace time (treaty) 12+ hours game with my brother. It helps that multiplayer savegames work, I don't know how you would even do this in AoE3.
Normal peace time is 60 minutes, but KaM actually scales quite nicely unlike AoE3. The larger your economy gets the harder it gets to sustain, infrastructure becomes a real bitch, and rather than accumulating resources while napping you are just trying to keep your 1000+ citizens from starving before even thinking of weapon production.

For those of you thinking that sounds like sim city, it's nothing like that. I wouldn't play that game if I was paid to. KaM is an actual RTS just with a much more complex economy than most.

just do the first part of your boom (hr or two idk) and then go to work and sleep like a normal person and then come back and wait a few hours until the fighting starts

Or make a scenario where you start with a million res and just need to build military infrastructure?

its hard enough having to play nr 55 or some cases nr 60 nilla ppl :/
but 24 hrs of eco what so u can fight with zero vills?
let me guess u want to use germany as well?
i honestly could not see the fun in a endless game personally.
