Treaty popularity?
Treaty popularity?
Would you play treaty somewhat if lag wasn't massive or barely an issue to deal with? It seems like an NR 40 is an all day investment because of how long it takes and with trolls changing the game speed ratio using programs lol

lol just play TP and dont whine every time
Re: Treaty popularity?
I play treaty. Lag is not that bad with most people, you just need a pc from this decade. Haven't heard of nor experienced game speed changing.
Re: Treaty popularity?
New PC is the solution honestly. I never played tr before getting my new computer, now I've actually played like 20 or so games. A lot of sup players do treaty every once in awhile and the pure treaty community isn't as small as you'd think.
Re: Treaty popularity?
Been playing treaty since I picked up the game again the last few weeks. It's refreshingly much better than I remember it (in terms of lag). It's to the point I hardly notice any and there are multiple games in a row that go by without any. I've also got a much better computer now than I used to play with, maybe explaining some things.

Re: Treaty popularity?
In 1v1 and 2v2 lag is barely an issue. It's not 0 lag (you have to play offline VS comps or on LAN to experience true 0 lag) but it's barely noticeable. In 3v3 lag is more of an issue because you have 5 other players, so the chances that one player has a shitty computer or connection are a lot higher. Distance also plays a role, if you play with people from all over the world (which has a higher chance of happening in a 3v3) there's a higher chance of connection lag. Obviously also more units on the map = higher chance for lag, I've even seen 3v3 supremacy games have lag issues. That said, I've played 3v3s before that didn't lag, but if you're one of those guys that can't stand lag you're better off sticking to 1v1 and 2v2.

There's a difference between a general question and whining.

Does anyone else think title actually has none to little relevance to the question
Fine line to something great is a strange change.

I'm wondering if the treaty popularity would be better if lag wasn't an issue. Some people claim it's not an issue but that never seems to be the issue with me and lag isn't an issue on my end.

Re: Treaty popularity?
The title definitely points to more of a question like, why is treaty so popular. Which we have a thread on already. "Is lag an issue for Treaty?"would probably be a better thread title

Evidence in this thread suggests it indeed may be an issue on your end. Try to play on max graphic settings and when you notice the game lags during a match, turn all graphics on minimum instead and see if the situation changes.
Re: Treaty popularity?
I dont play treat because I don't want to play a bastardized combination of sim city and wolosseum that takes over an hour. Also, i hate walling

Hey fellas! Thanks!! Good to be back. Yep, not too many Aussies around here, although you find out there's quite a few on ESO when you're online at the right time! Never any Kiwis though...
I'm a bit of a lurker, so I'm around more than many might realize. Love the game and the people too much to stay too far away.
Re: Treaty popularity?
To be honest the lag is always annoying in treaty. The lag is already super annoying in sup, you just get used to it a little bit.
Re: Treaty popularity?
same goes for treaty, you just get used to it. It's like sup with more units on the field, so it cant be that bad in comparison

Game speed changing is probably the lag switch software people use. U lag and delag every tenth of a second for "slow" gameplay I'm guessing.

Lag annoys me the most when I'm playing a team game and it seems whenever I go in for a raid it lags so the guy has enough warning to move his villagers and it sucks for my cav.

Re: Treaty popularity?
I used to play TR 40 and 55 quite a bit back in the day, but now I just can't do it. It's impossible to rank up and hard to find games, and like gibson I hate wall spamming. I also don't like artillery battles.
On the other hand, TR 20 can be very fun.
