Anyone ever done a form of treaty where you have to stay in age 4 and revolt at the end of it? Seems like it would be fun, mainly a war for the trade route if there is one and two sides trying to snipe each other's factories. I don't know about the rest of you, but whenever I think of Age of Empires, the first civ matchup that comes to mind is Haiti vs Gran Colombia.

An unfortunate complication indeed. Its a really funny thing when two otto players are 1v1'ing eachother attempting to otto revolt in nr10 though.

You just get imperial upgrades, which is quite a big deal. If you can sneak some vills, like from the Cherokee native settlement, you can also build a Capitol.

I don't know about Aiz's trick, but on RE at least I've revolted for funsies a few times on Carolina with Dutch. If you have the cherokee natives, you can research the tech that gives you 4 vills, and you'll have 4 normal vills.

The order of the trick is first revolt and then age 5 advancement, so you naturally don't have any vill shipments available, nob =_=

he is talking about a bug that lets you revolt and age at the same time by pausing and clicking both buttons at the same time.

Hmm. I played on a Lost Map and revolved and collected a ton of CDB as British and they stated as CDB.

I actually wasn't. I recall someone even writing about it on ESOC and remember my one game on Carolina when I wanted to do revolt in FFA, hence I walled in a settler treasure to get it after all of that, and unfortunately it just transformed into a regular militia unit. Of course, I got my sweet sweet 4 vills from the Cherokee settlement, but that's a different story, naturally

Maybe it was because the treasure was a CDB and not a settler for me.
