If you guys can get hold of the danish crime series "forbrydelsen" (the killing) - I would surely recoment you to watch that one. Its pretty epic

I tried to get into Borgen but it wasn't doing it for me, it's still on my list to give another chance when I have time to spare which probably means I'll end up not watching it. The Killing is just more of the same old cop drama formula which I never liked in the first place and have grown increasingly tired of. It may be relatively good quality but it's no True detective season 1 which is the kind of quality a cop drama needs to stand out to me at this point.

I haven't tried the other ones you mentioned. They don't seem to be on metacritic and IMDb ratings aren't exactly impressive so meh. Convince me, if you can.

As for animes, you can try but it's definitely not for everyone. I liked Katanagatari, and 5 cm/s (short film, not a show).


Anyway you all should finish up this list before anything else

Comedies
Rick and Morty****, Arrested Development, The Office (US), Parks and Recreation.

* This show is real. It starts slow, but give it an honest chance. It won't pull you in with cliffhangers or exciting plot twists but fuck me sideways if it isn't the best writing a TV show has ever seen. Widely considered by critics to be the best show ever and it probably will stay that way for a good while to come.
** Each episode is a new story, more like a series of short films that share a theme (dark sides of futuristic technology). It's eye-opening shit.
*** Maybe only if you're American, it's about football but top notch drama.
**** For the philosophers and (aspiring) scientists among us.

Also I am currently looking for well written romcom shows. It's a genre I left unexplored before, but I watched Love recently (Netflix kept fucking throwing it in my face) and I have a suspicion that perhaps deep down I'm a sucker for well written romance. Problem with the genre is that it's almost always nauseatingly cliché-filled crap, so recommendations are welcome. No movies.

Marseille (French political drama) just aired on Netflix, it looks pretty promising so I'm probably gonna try that one. Will report

well at the start its kind of an ordinary crime series. Becomes much better in the second half of season 1 and ALOT better in season 2 and 3.

Not really following the talk shows, from what I've seen my favourite is probably John Oliver's. Colbert's good, too. Needless to say I watch those shows for the comedy not for any interesting discussions which I prefer to read, mostly on reddit.

Bill maher is even further left than john oliver.

Also, vice is a world news and issue-based journalism programming. It goes into all of the real news in the world, unlike most tv news channels (CNN and missing flight month, queen of england's grandchild, and other useless crap like that). They recently did a section on donald drumpf's BS business practice in dubai.

It's kind of meh, tries hard to be House of Cards but doesn't quite succeed. Watchable though I guess, if you like political drama.

Next is "Happy valley", tend to dislike cop shows but this is getting great reviews.
