Are dish washers good or not?

So Dr. D1ck and Boobs brigade's new house has a dish washer and last time I was there I commented on how dumb I thought it was. Dr D1ck seemed to agree with me. So I'd like to use this thread as a way to debate the merits (or lack thereof) of dish washers. Do Europeans even have them?

Personally I think they break way too often and the fact that you have to rinse the dishes before putting them in defeats the whole purpose!

Well you have to spend the time rinsing first then loading and unloading so it doesn't save much time or effort really

Because of my job, I have come in contact with various dishwasher models. For some reason, one of them always smells amazing when I open it so I'm all for buying a dishwasher in the future for my house on the chance I get one that smells good when I open it.

Well you have to rinse them before you put them in dishwasher so yeah I might as well

Some of my dishes have a metal ring around them so it won't work
