Scene in which directions are asked

Can anyone think of a serious scene from a movie where someone is asking for directions to get somewhere (and preferably receive directions as well).

If no good scene from a movie can be found, perhaps from a book then.

:( not exactly what i had in mind, but thanks for trying! It's seems quite a hard task, most direction asking scenes are from comedies, and mostly, no directions are ever asked or given, such as in this scene above :(

It's for a test. I need authentic material to use to prepare an english lesson for a group of immigrants.

I figured being able to ask for directions/help would be useful, but it seems hard to find material for that.

Just film your own scene. Or buy one of those beginner english books that come with DVDs.

No, it's supposed to be authentic, which in this context means something not recorded explicitly for the purpose of educating people.

But I think I will use clips on how to meet and greet people instead, there is more material available, and I think i can make something of it

I never said which country these people migrated to. Maybe you should take up a class yourself, you seem to find reading difficult...

Better to use clips recorded for the purpose because then the choice of words can be adapted to the listeners' skill level.

Well, thats another debate, but the idea behind this is that they must learn the actual way language is used by native speakers, including accents, paced speech, cut off words and slang or sayings.

Its a test i must pass, and they explicitly ask me to use authentic material. I must then ensure that a lesson created around it to make that material useful for didactic purposes

So on Dutch tv you had these shows like wie is de mol where people had to do some tasks running around asking foreigners for directions. Theres been many things like that, like ruben vs katja, that kind of stuff (I know its poor television haha). Those people often ask for directions, maybe you can find a show like that but in english.
