I'm so excited for the prospect of an AI playing AoE3, it's like being given the answers we've all been looking for for so long, like being shown what the correct way to play each match up is. That won't happen for a while but if DeepMind is successful at Starcraft it could be successful at any RTS, or even any game, or even any clearly defined task. It would be a massive step for AI.

AoE3 has a lot of AI limits, I'm afraid

With SC2, as they did with the first games they solved (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V1eYniJ0Rnk), they are planning to eventually give the AI the same tools a human would have. That is only sensory input, not any additional connection to the game engine. This would enable it to do everything a human can do (and not more), and the same could be done with AoE3.

You're implying a 2 rax Jan rush or consolidate sepoy rush requires eating livestock or changing wonders (which they don't) and these are the clear premier aoe strats so I don't see your point?????

Posting off-topic in off-topic isn't necessarily off-topic, my off-topic was a response to another off-topic, but I thought my off-topic out-off-topic'd the other off-topic; however, you complaining about my off-topic to another off-topic is an off-topic in itself, too.
