I'm a pretty basic boardgamer and the basic response to this question is Settlers of Catan but I love it so much. Of course chess is a classic but one I'm trash at.

Also I appreciate how your response is both an invitation to participate and an answer in itself.

I played some Game of Thrones and although I have never watched anything related with the series I enjoyed it. I also like new Monopolies with credit cards and stuff, I used to play the ones in which it would get boring after initial purchases, so mechanics like exchanging properties from chance cards are awesome!

All of the above

Friends and I have been playing Pandemic Legacy S1 recently. It's quite something, can recommend. #1 on Boardgamegeek so it's not surprising that it's very good https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/161 ... y-season-1

Do card games also count as tabletop games?
Just one more game of AoE then I'll go to bed.

NPR did a nice bit not necessarily on Diplomacy but Diplomacy is the focus for the first 20 min. They even take an actual US diplomat to play in the Diplomacy World Championships as a ringer. There's a lot of sound clips. It's pretty neat!

When we play Risk the game doesn't end. Whenever someone gets ahead everyone else allies against them until it's even again. It's kind of like AoE3 FFAs except in Risk you can't die.

That's where diplomacy comes in! To manouver your allies in such a way that they don't realise you are secretly getting your objective! or, just conquer australia and turtle.

YES, YES, A THOUSAND TIMES YES.

Easily my favorite board game of all time. It's a shame I don't have the opportunity to play more often.

Yeah, Risk is big hype but kinda meh in the end. Cards against humanity I played only once and oh, boi, was it a pleasure! We've never laughed so hard together with friends before!

i played both yesterday, and i must say i found CaH a bit underwhelming. I suppose you really need to have the right mix of people or be on the road to drunkenness. Risk however, good as always, specially cuz i win all the time.

i also like trivia games such as 30 seconds, or trivia. pictionary is also a garantueed laugh, when people get upset about "how do you mean that's an fucking ostrich?! THATS A FUCKING FURRY STICK IN THE GROUND. THIS... THIS IS AN OSTRICH!!!"
