And why is that? Does treaty seem more balanced than non-treaty?

I would say it is a little less balanced but that doesn't mean it is less quality

It really comes down to personal preference Mr. @fightinfrenchman and Mr. @pecelot

You can have beer and wine people etc, but the fact is they are two different things.

The only real thing that affects quality is the skill of the player and so if you have an unbalanced civ it can be both a good and bad thing. I enjoy beating. op civs in tr because it is funny to see them rage. Very entertaining.

Well if balanced games are so much more quality than why do so many people to choose to play on RE rather than EP?

yep this is the best way to kill me. I may run though and not make it so easy or you. in that 9 minutes ill likely have 3 TPs to boom off of. if you attack them you give me time to prepare, if you attack me i then run and boom off TP for res.

Do you have any tips concerning room names? Should they be called „FFA", „FFA FFA", „FFA FFA FFA", „FFA FFA FFA FFA" or „FFA FFA FFA FFA FFA"?

Great question!

There are many good iterations and often you can tell who is hosting the FFA by the name, for instance one player always host, FFA join now.

I tend to go with FFA FFA FFA FFA or FFA FFA FFA FFA FFA
But also FFA All Welcome is good
some host games FFA newbs only but these seem to fill very slow
FFA Fun for all FFA, etc...

You basically want to be sure people can tell it is a FFA to draw attention to it. yet keep it simple.

Another note is to sometimes put RE FFA FFA FFA if you rehost a few times so that players who could not get in the game see that it is new or change the name some way.

Rules for a fun FFA:

1- No walls allowed.
2- See rule one.

turtling and not making units is still optimal, but without walls, raids become a thing, so the game isnt just a nr55-FFA.

How will you defend then against age 5 opri raids? :hmm:

KOTH FFA is the ultimate FFA. Make sure you have an even number of players!

oh man I left out KOTH hill mode!

I will add an addendum for those and the game hosting names.

KOTH is an excellent way to play FFA. You don't see it as often but when people start they play several short games because it is that much fun

Walls are just part of the game. I do agree people should not lame them because they are kinda OP but to just have no walls is going to change the way people fight to only focus on eco attacks. This also gives some civs way more advantages that can spam fast or don't rely on wonders and factories.

you don't have to have walls yourself though. I have won many games by just attacking and spreading out following the natural resources to boom on. your enemy cant efficiently fight you doing all that searching but since you know where they are can initiate some kind of base trade option for them. you also save yourself thousands of resources to turn into faster attacking times.
