Are you being serious? Granted, I sometimes use them to punish a FI/Revolt build, but it's about their only use. They are literally hopeless against any unit.

Nope, good dose of sarcasm.
Though they are some kind of broken, as they are utter nonsense units and not even situational (with the rare exception of the Indian team card which then again is only worth it in 3v3 or 4v4).
Melee units tend to be weak in this game anyway, but slow melee siege units like the flail elephant or the iroquois battering ram (which either have a very weak or no melee attack against units at all) are imo the worst possible unit idea.

Not really, I think yumi samurai is simply a great unit composition against aztec.

@momuuu You just make Aztec's best unit even stronger with that composition, do you not? The reason xbow/huss is the main composition is to force Aztec to make things other than mace, innit?

I can speak from experience that this is very true. Same goes for club/yumi.

But on topic, rajputs are pretty useless, same goes for galleons and fluyts.

True, but sometimes because resources its good you can make them. It's the only unit in the game that costs food/wood (besides mahout which is age3). So if you have some gold, at least you can make something. :P

"Only unit in the game" is somewhat of an overstatement. Also, you're usually probably just better off temporarily halting military production and task more villagers to coin if you have too much wood instead of wasting it on rajputs. If you're trying to sepoy rush and mismacroed that early in the game you're bound to lose anyways. I think it's hard to find a situation where making rajputs because you have mismacroed is a good thing.
Pay more attention to detail.

They don't require anything to be trained, so once you're in a late stage of the game and have the entire population space taken, they can be somewhat useful :roll:

Yumi deal with mace pretty effectively. But they need protection from coyotes which is what the samurai excel at. And I think he is not speaking about early colonial but a little later on when you can actually get 10-12 Samurai out and the mace shipments have already been sent.
