By the way DEs are made by FE which has the headquarter in Redmond iirc. RE has the hq in Vancouver so those supposed 10 people are there for AOE4.

Assuming what has been leaked is true, it is actually possible that they started AOE4 some time ago. Then again the old AAA title post by Microsoft was for a job in Redmon so probably aoe1DE.

I stay by my assumption that they are in early alpha stage and at best they contacted some players for feedbacks. Tho why would they fly over just for that.

AoE2 is like that first love who you had a fiery relationship with, but later, once you've gotten a slice of that AoE3 booty, you just don't get what you ever saw in her/him/it. 12 year-old me had no trouble beating hard AI's, these days I get rekt. The game just feels clunky and weird.

Anyway, I wouldn't lose hope on AoE4 just because they're consulting AoE2 pros. I think they are actually trying to make a good game because they wan't the AoE2 pros to migrate to AoE4.

@dietschlander @agrondergermane Please avoid posting a random number that has no meaning at all, nor does a random number bring anything new or helpful to the discussion. Thanks. :flowers:

1 and 2 are hardly random numbers to aoe3 players.

While the two numbers might be hardly random, those numbers definitely did not bring anything new and/or constructive to the discussion and should be treated as posts of extremely low quality - hence an informal warning to both :!:

That is just ridiculous. Since when is "yes" and "no" grounds for warning?

in b4 SCC invitation.

New moderators tend to over-moderate. Or at least Pecelot did. One overbearing mod is enough!

Definitely not. I am only saying that we AoE3 lovers are a minority, and therefore not quite representative of the rest of the series' fan base.

Yes, I am new and I might be over-moderating, but my reason still stands. Posts that do not bring anything new/constructive to the discussions are considered low-quality - and in this case, the two numbers (or yes and no) do not mean anything at all.

Anyway, let us just put it there and continue our discussion on AOE4 and the recent rumours instead. :flowers:

I know those are only rumours but i've two questions:
a) which period will be covered? Ancient, medieval or modern?

b) which engine will move the game? Essence engine?

Nothing sure yet, but i'm willing to bet for ancient times.

The engine is not known yet as well. Relic will probably use its own engine, so yeah, it might be Essence.

So Roman and Greek civilizations? It would be great.

gamevideo113 wrote:I don't think anyone from the AoE3 community flew to vancouver unfortunately. Most of the AoE2 players that went there are relatively open minded when it comes to different games though (aka they aren't AoE2 purists) so i think we can still hope for the best. Assuming they will be asked their opinion, they probably won't push excessively for mantaining some AoE2 characteristics which might be out of date.

Welp, Viper with his pro AoE3 Vanilla gameplay :uglylol:

You wouldn't be able to tell us about that anyway, so your say now is kind of irrelevant, with us having the benefit of the rumour :P
