I suspect this is because people don't know the ESOC maps that well. We are trying to kill off the maps we hate, but if we can't think of what the map looks like then obviously we haven't played it enough so they get a pass mark. However everyone hates getting some shitty spawn on some standard map so they vote it off and you always remember the shitty "standard maps" maps.

It's a testament to how well made the ESOC maps are I think. Siberia is up against two controversial ESOC maps and is probably the favorite RE map. It may be the only RE map with a chance of surviving.

Note: The only ESOC map eliminated was from a group with all ESOC maps left.

Pretty awesome that it is this slanted in the favor of our map makers.

I was considering voting out Indonesia though, but it was up against great lakes.

also, fuck yucatan. And ryan you underestimate the fact that the basement will gang up to make himalayas win.

I think I'm biased towards keeping ESOC maps because standard maps often have less hunts.

I will wait until the end of the contest to draw conclusion, but that is already pretty intersting. The first esoc map out, ESOC Iowa, confirms the fact that this is probably the map that need the more retrofit from all esoc maps.

Deccan is one of the better RE maps. Consistent, reasonable hunts, cool layout, split 3/2 tp line, and unique crate start.

Even if you don't like the crate start it's still awesome. With the crate start you can do some cool openers that give you tp to make up for how fast you age.

Deccan would probably be best map if it had a normal crate start. The high crate start makes it more niche, and it screws balance a lot, brits and japan become near invincible. And india/china are also massively boosted.

andes is about to lose to deccan. please don't let this be a travesty, vote out deccan. deccan is plodding and laggy

Just got reminded that NW Territory exists. This map actually has an interesting layout. The absence of whales and the tp routes being far from the water should make camping on the other side and water abuse unlikely. So any chance we could get a fixed version of it in the future?
It is also a strictly superior version of Indochina
