anyone ever have this happen?:
I join a game and my ping is good for about 10 seconds then one player starts to go yellow slowly, then another follows and then they all go orange, and finally all red. I tested my internet and its download 5mps up 3 mps and I am in California USA anyone know why? It seems like a bug

Re: strange ping problem
Your ping isn't really determined by your up/down speeds unless its being severely choked. Ping represents how strong that connection is/how stable the connection is to allow for the amount of data to pass up/down. In a P2P game like AOE3 where you live in relation to who you play against will play a huge part in the shown ping because if it's is a long distance then your connection will be weak. What I'm getting at is you need to be looking at your ping when you check your connection not your up/down speeds and look at where you live in comparison to who you play against. I've never seen a bug that shows an incorrect ping. So it's likely correct if you are seeing red.

Re: strange ping problem
This is just a bad ping. It takes a while for AOE3 to adjust the ping. Try and play with people in your area, if they are red ping as well after a few seconds it may be a poor router.

It probably just takes a while for the game to realize how bad the ping is. Green is also the unmeasured color I believe.
