PR question
I had a nice little win streak on 1v1 but I was only gaining .10 PR per game, then I lost ONE game vs the FIELD MARSHALL and lost almost half a PR just for that. WTF??? If I can beat people of my own rank and only get .10 why do I lose .5 from the highest ranking person on ESO. WTF???
Then I looked into his ladder history and see that his PR is going down even though he is winning every game. strange....

Re: PR question
cause his account is a new account and probably using low hc
Re: PR question
PR takes into account the amount of games played on the account, the Home City level, and the civ used (you get less PR for civs with a higher win%)
You are gaining little PR because you are playing vs people ~7 PR lower than yourself.
After a few hundred games, when you win vs someone the same PR as you, you typically will gain .15-.2 PR per game.

usually I play people the same as me or a little lower or higher. Today I'm just playing whoever is online. And I am getting less then .10
usually there are only noobs, or 1st lts hostng 1v1. all the 2nds wont play me anymore and even not that many 1sts hosting lately. sad life. anyone higher than 1st is on EP
but it stil doesnt make sense why i would lose half a PR for losing to a lvl 50 using a lvl 100 city. I am lvl 21 with a lvl 131 city. If I can beat a lvl 20 or so and get only .10 how does a lvl 50 beat a lvl21 and then actually lose pr from just playing. Is the system just totally fkd up? Is the only way for the field marshall to stay field marshall to just not play if he actualy de ranks even from winnign?

100 every time
he told me he only plays below 1st lt. He plays like a 1st lt or captain maybe but that might be a bit generous. Apparently he wont play anyone he doesn't think he can beat for sure, and was hesitant to play me tonight due to the map/civ MU and had to make a new city

It's broken because of the HC problem and rampant point-trading/oos. PR does not matter whatsoever above 20ish. It's still used as broad strokes to describe how good people are/what level they play at, but most decent player's accounts are decayed back to pr25.

That's kind of exaggerated. There's still a clear difference between a pr25, a pr30 and a pr35, for example.

Yeah I was gonna put something about that in, but you really can't use PR as a judge of skill in this game alone (which is more of what I was getting at). It's not like something like LoL with a well-developed elo system that somewhat accurately places you based on skill. There are differences between a pr25 and or 35 calibre players, but in reality most people's PR does not match their skill level (up or down).

he didnt, it doesnt show the pr he gained from beating coscuco, who is a captain I believe. So he was probably like 21.2 or smt when he lost to that guy .

Re: PR question
sometimes PR changes aren't recorded in ladders
also bear in mind PR decay, which is quite often at the highest level

You can check it out on jp elo. Lost almost nothing. System working as intended.
Not to say though the system doesn't screw up on many other occasions.

Save for people that decayed and people that play lots of unrated and not a lot of ranked, pr is actually pretty accurate. I feel like the lt colonels are better than the majors who are better than the captains who are better than the 1st lts who are better than the 2nd lts. Its just that whether you're pr24 or pr26 or something might not be that significant.
